I have a college graduation ring that's gold.  I don't wear it that much anymore, but I do when I'm going to football games and such.

My wedding ring is titanium.  Cost me $90 I think.

My wife's engagement ring and wedding ring are both platinum.  I bought the diamond and it came in a plain gold Tiffany setting, and that's what I proposed with.  Then I let her pick the setting she really wanted and I had it made to her specifications.  Then we picked out her wedding band which is just a very plain, narrow platinum band, which is perfect for her because as a Physical Therapist who works all day with her hands, she needs something small and unobtrusive.  She only wears the band while working and adds the engagement ring when going out or whatever.

Mrs. DeT did the same thing for a while when she frequently had to put on/pull off latex gloves periodically for her job and didn't want to be bothered with taking her ring off and on or not wearing it to work altogether.  Her engagement ring was basically flat like the wedding band, tho, so she wore them both.  Now her job doesn't require that much, and it coincided with the 5 yr anniversary, so she picked out a more regular looking ring.  None of it was very expensive.

My daughter called my wife and me yesterday evening while she was walking across campus, we spent about 20 mins talking to her.  That made me happy!

It's inlay is not as ostentatious as some, but the eagle in the headstock and the 13 stars on the fret board are pretty sweet. The sound is amazing.

SFIrish's is the same number out of 98 as our anniversary date, which is pretty cool. We also have the letter from the member of the Martin family--it's only prior owner--that originally received it. It had hardly been played until we bought it.

That said it is not a museum piece; SFIrish plays her guitars, and this one is her main squeeze.

I also went titanium.   I dont like wearing any jewelry.  Routinely leave it off.  Of course you don't want your hand stuck w titanium ring on.

I don't wear anything except a wedding ring and a watch.

But I always wear the ring. Even if I go play golf or if I were to go hiking, or brewing beer, I'll swap it out for a silicone ring.

For whatever reason, I had no idea about the College ring thing until I moved to the south. And damn people here from certain schools love them.

The military academy grads love theirs ("Ring Knockers"). I think my grandfather may have worn his Cal ring his entire military career in part as a reaction to that. I got one because it reminded me of my grandfather. Used to wear it routinely, but scarred up my knuckle doing a dryer repair during covid, and it no longer fits. Have thought about having it resized, but how much do I really care?
