I go to movies... like almost never.

I'm taking my wife to a matinee today, to see Michael. *

I'll report back.

* This is what I get for buying her an AMC gift card as part of my 29th anniversary gift to her.

I didn't think she'd ask me to go with her. But, how could I say no?

Sigh. *
it wasn’t a great movie but honestly was better than I expected, but that’s bc I definitely expected it to be absolutely terrible.

Colman Domingo is a hell of an actor and gives a great performance. The fact that that was Jaafar Jackson’s first acting role ever and he was that on point and that convincing is insane to me. Those two performances alone make it worth seeing at least once.

I’m chucking because you seem like just the least interested in movies kind of person I have interacted with. Said with respect. Not everything is for everyone.

Interesting. I heard it was poor.

the movie was poor or the acting performances?

I know it got slammed by critics but I don’t really pay attention to what any of those retards have to say. you have to be an absolute fucking retard and loser to even have the job of media critic of any type in the first place.

audience scores were through the roof and it broke box office records for a biopic and was the #1 movie in the world so obviously some people liked it.

I absolutely expected it to suck but it was surprisingly decent and like I said the acting performances by Colman Domingo and Jaafar Jackson were terrific. Gotta give credit where credit is due- those two actors nailed their roles.

Previews looked pretty good to me.  I won't see it in the theater but I'll likely watch it when it hits a streaming service that I have.

Ditto.

But that's probably reflected in my commentary only reflecting upon shitty B (maybe) but nostalgic movies that showed skin or had themes of a young guy getting busy with what we refer to as a cougar these days.

Hmm....both you and Mdot thought it was better than you expected it to be.

Still probably won't see it in the theater, but it's moving up my list of things to watch out for on streaming.

I'm not going to give anything up as far as spoiling the movie.

I thought the acting was phenomenal - not a weak link in the entire cast.

Most of know the Michael Jackson story.

This movie shined a light on all that was good in him - but not to the point of being corny.

I'm calling it now. There will be a sequel, and it has a great shot to better.

I'm going to keep the existence of this movie quiet at my household, or I'll get stuck watching it.  Wife was/is a big fan.

Confided with me, wherein I had posters of Heather Thomas (pink bikini) and Samantha Fox, she had one of MJ, as a teen.
