Sometimes great artists aren't the greatest people, but that doesn't mean their art is not worth appreciating. People are funny like that.
I'm not a huge Michael Jackson fan and I don't listen to that kind of music much, but he did put out some bangers, starting with Billy Jean. And I bet his shows were an experience.
I'm sure I've said before that some of the best shows I've been to weren't necessarily my favorite musicians. Phil Collins tops that list. At the time* I thought of him as a cheeseball, pop singer for middle-aged people, but damn, he put on a great concert. Loved it. Still don't love him, but it doesn't take away from his showmanship.
I wish I had seen Prince live. Don't like his music especially either, but I bet his shows were lit.
*I still think of him as a cheeseball, pop singer for middle-aged people. Of course now I'm middle aged. I still don't love him, but he did put out some solid hits.
