Top Golf knockoff - Great Shot was open in Sioux Falls SD until 1am this morning

I imagine the temp was around 3 below

I'd need a healthy discount, those heaters can only do so much
It was tough on Sunday, Temps were mid to upper 40s at tee time (7:40a).  Had to take the long sleeve pullover off by the time I hit the turn.  Saturday was a bit warmer in the 50s at 750a tee time.  Now Monday it was 70 at my 1230 tee off. One of the reasons on love living in AZ.

Well, the defining feature of most exec courses is that they simply don't have enough available land to be "real" courses. If they had more land, they'd be full-length courses. So they're trying to get the most compact routing they can.

Because they're so short, they don't tend to attract a lot of "expert" golfers. Rather, they attract all manner of hackers, duffers, and general novices. So not only is the routing compact, you have a TON of players that couldn't find their own fairway anyway.

So compact routing + bad golfers = danger.
We have some great executive courses around here.  I have not notice the compact routing.  In fact some of the full-length courses around here have worse compact routing. There is one in particular I play quite regularly.  Doesn't seem to have the issues that you all equate to executive courses.

Our grocery stores are still pretty well stocked but odd things go out of availability every now and then.

For example, our kids like to pack Cheez-its with their school lunches, and we typically buy the big box of individually wrapped packages of them.  But for a couple of months, we haven't been able to find them on store shelves, and then when we finally did, they only had the "extra toasty" version available.  The kids will somehow manage to live with those, but it's weird what you can't get, and what we took for granted, before all this started.

Cheez-its ROCK!

He is right though- random things not in stock. Ritz crackers, cream cheese, Pasta noodles, paper plates.   Odd things.

I'm tough enough to handle those conditions
Warm enough here today (58), but the wind is blowing 25mph
and I'm working
and all the courses are closed for the season

I had to make a run to Ralph's (local version of Kroger) today because we like their carne asada, so I tried to pick up the Kroger brand spicy cheese stick pack. I think it's 1/2 chipotle cheddar and 1/2 habanero jack, or something like that.

That's the one that has been hit-or-miss for roughly the last year+.

My wife hates Ralph's (she's a Pavilions girl). I do the Costco runs and she does the grocery runs, so the only time I can even look for it is when we have an off-schedule purchase where I go to Ralph's. And I see those cheese sticks maybe one trip out of 5, at best.

Pisses me off. #firstworldproblems

Mine just got back. Lots of stuff on my list that they didn't have.

We're going to the bar tonight.

Gonna wear my brand new "Bare Shelves _____" shirt. It fits, literally and figuratively.

I'm bringing Roku Gin, limes, and Tonic

The host asked me to be the bartender, she has a great bar and VERY well stocked

Some parts of the grocery shelves were low this weekend, but we also had snow, which makes people do insane things when it comes to groceries.

Interestingly, I’ve pretty often been able to get my preferred cut of chicken, which is oft-hard to secure.

Ok, you're gonna have to explain this one. I've never had any trouble getting chicken, anywhere, and any particular cut.

So I've gotta ask what cut of chicken is hard to secure lol...

Chicken wings have been in short supply for almost a year now.  They're less frequently found in the grocery store, sometimes not available at all, and when you do find them they're significantly more expensive than they used to be.

Other than that though, we haven't had any issues here, at least not since the VERY early months of the pandemic, when the Tyson plants were hard-hit with COVID and ceased operating periodically.

Bone-in skinless thighs. People want boneless skinless, which are expensive and just tiny skinless chicken breasts, or regular thighs.

I like the bone-in, skinless because I get the illusion of health while they still have enough fat to stay juicy and can be cooked to eternity if I get distracted. I respect that I could buy skin on and take it off, but frankly, once it’s there and flavorful, I’m not prone to letting it go to waste.

For whatever reason, it’s always hit or miss with availability.
