Bone-in skinless thighs. People want boneless skinless, which are expensive and just tiny skinless chicken breasts, or regular thighs.

I like the bone-in, skinless because I get the illusion of health while they still have enough fat to stay juicy and can be cooked to eternity if I get distracted. I respect that I could buy skin on and take it off, but frankly, once it’s there and flavorful, I’m not prone to letting it go to waste.

For whatever reason, it’s always hit or miss with availability.
Interesting, I've never thought to even look for that. Boneless skinless thighs are my go to for fried chicken sandwiches, mostly because they are perfectly shaped and like you said, much more impervious to overcooking. Also glad you aren't into chicken chitlins.

I don't believe I've ever seen chicken intestines for sale anywhere?

Livers and gizzards, on the other hand, are a delicious delicacy when fried up Southern-style.

LOL... So you're asking for a cut of chicken to be your diet police. Got it :57:

Chicken thighs (bone-in, with skin) are something like $0.99/lb in big packs at Costco--haven't looked at the grocer. For that, I'd pull the skin off myself. Or, I wouldn't, because the skin is delicious... Which I guess is your point.

But if you want to search out cuts of meat because you have no self-control, well.........

Search? Diet? B.R.A.D, you're reading too much into this.

I go to the grocer, I look for the cut of meat I feel cooks up well. If it's not there, I opt for a product that is a hair cheaper per unit that is a worthwhile substitute, even if I think it cooks up less well. If neither are there, I eat something else.

This is not so complicated, certainly not engineering.

(I do need to make the Costco plunge, even if it's going to mean overloading an apartment that doesn't have enough space as is)

Chicken wings have been in short supply for almost a year now.  They're less frequently found in the grocery store, sometimes not available at all, and when you do find them they're significantly more expensive than they used to be.

Other than that though, we haven't had any issues here, at least not since the VERY early months of the pandemic, when the Tyson plants were hard-hit with COVID and ceased operating periodically.
Yep. I don't do wings nearly as much as I used to.

The bar had them last night though, on the specials menu, for $1/each.

Regular menu has them too, listed at M.P.

Now Taco Bell is going to carry chicken wings.  That can't help the shortage...

I got sick eating a bunch of Wing Stop boneless wings.....too much fried stuff, not enough chicken.

Back in high school, we ate an obscene number of wings.  Looking back, it's absurd.  50-60-70, for real.  It was on Wednesday nights, and since games were Friday, our Thursday practice was helmets only and easy.  The farts emitted every Thursday practice were toxic.

back in the mid-90s, (I was mid 30s) I'd split a platter of 50 wings with someone at Hooters. with taters

can't eat 25 wings anymore.
a dozen is plenty for an old guy

I'm in a 1200 sf house, and 40% of the time there are 5 people and a large dog living here, so I get it re: space.

I still spend $250+ a week at Costco though lol.

A glass of milk at home before bed takes care of those issues.
