Forbes just did a couple articles on this. Long-term price adjustment downwards in those areas, and is expected to continue downward into the foreseeable future.

just got our 2021 property tax valuation 

my house value went up 8% over last year

oh joy

might have to protest it but maybe not

Always protest it.  You'll likely get some concession.

Columbus area property values are flying up too. I was thinking about challenging it but based on what I've heard you need to have an appraisal done to get anywhere and I didn't feel like it. Plus the valuation is still 100K below what homes in the area are going for, so I just accepted it.
