Grilled ribeye for dinner tonight. Didn't quite realize that prime at Costco is going for $30/lb right now. Yikes.

Just finally got around to doing TSA precheck.

I think it took longer to find parking at the airport than it did for the process lol.
The best feeling.

Clemson, not impressive

Everything in the grocery store is more expensive now, and some things are not even available, or running short.

Some of the pay practices companies have had are getting exposed in a major way. My wife works as a nurse at an ER, and with labor shortages they suddenly offer %150 percent increases on pay to pick up shifts. Doesn't help the morale if you were already scheduled to work.

I’m interested in how that works. Like, it’s that time over normal working hours? For part timers?

Like, how does one lose out by already being scheduled?

So if she is already scheduled, she just gets her base pay and a penalty if she doesn't show up. But if she picks up a shift, she gets her base pay plus some random amount, which lately is about 1.5 times what her base pay. So most nurses eventually quit their normal shifts and just pick up. But she can't do that until March

San Diego State Football

There's only one active coach to start 6-0 with three different FBS programs. And his name is Brady Hoke.

Oh, that’s a super weird inefficiency. Bad design.

My wife just got a 10% raise. It was driven primarily by her office's medical assistant, who was woefully underpaid... She went to bat for her employee and basically told her doctors that it wasn't about her own pay, but that if they lost her MA it would be crippling to the office and they'd end up having to hire and train someone at much higher pay than the current MA was making anyway.  The doctors gave the MA about an 18% raise and gave my wife a raise too. So that was nice.
