We've reached the part of the year where we'll get sub-50 temps early in the morning, and then perfect sunny mid-70s in the middle of the afternoon.

Which means that every person seeing me walk the dog early in the morning, in gym shorts and a t-shirt, has to ask me "aren't you cold?"

No, jackass, I grew up in Chicago. 48 degrees is beautiful dog-walking weather.

ate a bunch, (too many) Big Macs in high school.

Worked for a year at a full service gas station as shift manager that was located next to the MacDonalds.  Many of my high school friends worked there.  The gas station / McDonalds was a hot spot on "the loup" Friday and Saturday night.

Sold the cheapest cigarettes in the city and expensive beer.

Good Times!!!
I may have shared this before...
we had a 330 lb FR lineman on the football team.  He sucked, but could run, so everybody's thinking, "hey, he could be really good eventually."
Dude gets a job at Hardees (Carl's Jr).
And that was that.

I saw Alton Brown's Beyond the Eats show last night at the State Theatre in Minneapolis. An acquaintance produced tickets, and my wife and I both went not having a clue what to expect. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. Would recommend.

How was his demeanor?

I always liked Alton, and he was the "goofy nerd" guy when his show Good Eats was on. But it seems like he's taken the role of "bad boy" on Food Network in recent years, with his Cutthroat Kitchen, his "maniacal baskets" episodes of Chopped, and being a real ass the season he co-hosted Worst Cooks in America. I then saw some of his "Quarantine Quitchen" stuff on YouTube with his wife, and it didn't exactly make his personality seem that much more warm and fuzzy.

I wonder how he comes across in this sort of environment...

He came across as much more the goofy nerd than jackass. One segment dealt with Worst Cooks head-on, and he admitted that he was the heel of the show and did so at the behest of the Food Network.

There were a few things in the show that were clearly opening night bugs they hadn't worked out yet, this was the first show of the tour.

He was very teacher-y on his old show.  He'd tell you where something originated and why it's used.  Very informative.

Yep. His show is why I got into homebrewing.

I saw his episode on homebrewing in 2005. My initial response "hell, I could do that." It quickly became "I should REALLY do that." In early 2006 I brewed my first batch.

I really liked Good Eats

Just finally got around to doing TSA precheck.

I think it took longer to find parking at the airport than it did for the process lol.
