Unfortunately "Big Real Estate" (like Big Pharma) uses all sorts of methods to prop itself up and keep housing artificially overpriced. They're doing this in New York right now, where prices in New York Metro are kept high by shielding the sheer amount of properties posted for sale and consequently overpricing the market by depicting the low supply necessary to maintain current pricing. If it ever reached general levels of public knowledge as to the volume of houses "unofficially" for sale across NYC Metro, we'd see proportionate drop in property values.

Had lunch at our fav Indian place, their food is really something, unlike "Indian" food I've had at lesser places.  It was full, there was one other table of folks like us, everyone else was Indian.  We were afraid they wouldn't survive, but they have.  On 8thh and Peachtree, the real Peachtree.

only tried Indian food a couple times.  not many options in this area

WHITING, Ind. (AP) — A northwestern Indiana city is bringing back its annual Pierogi Fest, a year after the festival built around the popular Polish delicacy was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

This year’s Pierogi Fest will take place from July 23-25 in Whiting, Indiana, where crowds will once again celebrate pierogis and consume the traditionally potato- and cheese-filled dumplings, The (Northwest Indiana) Times reported.

Pierogi Fest is one of the largest food festivals in Indiana and across the Midwest. The event in the city about 20 miles (32 kilometers) southeast of Chicago is filled with offbeat events like a pierogi toss contest and a nun dunk tank.
