Brian Wilson and David Lee Roth wish they all could be California girls.
There's a lot of guys who wish they could be girls in California. Just one of the many reasons that place is a crazy ass cesspool.

You're a strange cat with some odd obsessions over how and where other people choose to live their lives, but that's cool.  It takes all kinds.

David Lee Roth is a strange cat

I may have been referred to as a strange cat more than a few times

Well California, and specifically LA, draws a lot of attractive women from all over, that are trying to be actresses/models/etc.  So not only is the homegrown talent good, but they import an abnormally high percentage of attractive women as well.
Well if the Chix can't cut it as Aggies then they move to L.A.

Florida probably has the hottest women of any state in the entire country. And FSU has all the hottest girls in Florida that were too stupid to get into UF or too stupid to get into Miami/couldn’t afford the tuition at Miami. Expansion of FAU/FIU have cut into the talent at FSU I’m sure, but the Indiana scenery pales in comparison to what this guy is leaving at FSU.
You haven't been to Miami U.

Don't have to. I've been to Tallahassee before. FSU kills everyone in this...

Arizona State holds its own.

Well if the Chix can't cut it as Aggies then they move to L.A.
When my i s c & a aggie wife was at A&M, there were a lot of very pretty girls.  Same thing at UT.

Over time, as admissions standards have increased, there are fewer and fewer really hot girls going to either.  In the state of Texas, now they all go to Texas Tech or Texas State.  Those schools are... rich in talent... so to speak.

Way back in the day, 1975, I took a trip over spring break to visit Princeton, and stopped at UNC on the way back.  Princeton had snow on the ground in places and the "coeds" were covered up with parkas and whatnot.  At UNC it was 70°F and the coeds were wearing shorts.

I went to UNC.

If it has bread instead of a bun, and cheese on it, around here we'd call it a patty melt.

I have no idea when that came into the vernacular, nor how widespread it is, though.
I've heard of a patty melt.  That's what I thought one was, though.

I think patty melts need to be on pumpernickel or dark rye bread with an obscene amount of fried onions to be considered a patty melt.

Lots of places claim the hamburger,New Haven,Conn but that was 1900.In Akron Ohio and Outagamie County Fair Wisc.both claim it in 1885

All those other claims are missing the point.  From your link:

Quote
Only one of the claimants below served their hamburgers on a bun – Oscar Weber Bilby in 1891.  The rest served them as sandwiches between two slices of bread.

That would be Oscar Weber Bilby, from just outside of Tulsa.  Ancestor of the current owners of the Weber's Root Beer stand, where, along with cooking their burgers on the original 1891 grill, they make their own root beer.

Surely none of us think that a ground-beef patty between two slices of bread is a hamburger.

Is a bun typically something other than bread?
