Heh.  I play in the fantasy baseball league each January with the Braves, I thought this 55+ league would be about the same in terms of talent, but it isn't, in part because each fantasy team has 3-4 good players under 40ish who you put "up the middle", and then 3-4 decent players you kind of hide a bit, and then 3-4 guys like me who are too old really.  Those teams USUALLY make routine plays.  Our 55+ team almost never makes routine plays, we have maybe two decent players who can catch cans of corn.

Our firstbaseman can barely move, any throw to him not on the dime won't be caught, and few throws get where he can catch it.  I take it "in stride".  I'm really there to work on my arm and stay in quasi shape.  And I've been hampered by not being able to get my curve over the plate, I can't figure out why.  I'm going to call Pete Smith when the weather cools for some more coaching.  When I can manage a "get over curve", I am a decent pitcher.  Using the term liberally.

The good news is I'm only mildly sore today, headed to the gym soonish.

I think this is the new thing, probably because drones have made it much easier. I know Minnesota and Wisconsin both do it.

All 3 of my daughters are presently in town, oldest with her hubby and daughter.  

They're all at the museum, and I'm in here because every case I have is on fire.  But yet I STILL can't make myself deal solely with that crap, and thus am on here.

Anyway, it's been great, but I am freaking exhausted.  I'm just a few years ahead of some of you guys sending kids off to college.

One of the things going on with oldest is hubby is being courted by the hospital right here to come to work in 2 years.  Never woulda thunk it.

My two went off to college 100 miles away in 2006.  One is still in C-bus, and visits 2-3 times a year, the other in Vancouver, BC, more like once a year.  We do stay in touch.

I recall still being kind of a mental wreck in 2006.

IIRC the U of Minnesota started this in ~2011.

In typical UW-Madison fashion, their first attempt at the W on the Camp Randall floor was that goofy-ass thing that's on the marching band uniforms, not the motion W that is at midfield.

It's a U and a W - a unique logo designed in the 1940's or earlier.
