Ice that elbow and roll out the cliches for the reporters.  Job well done.

Best baseball movie IMHO.  I once was on a plane from London to NYC with Nuke over in 1A, I was in 1C.  Dude is taller than me.  Not much of an athlete though.

Last night was my son's last night in my house before college.

He's sticking around this evening to go out for his sister's birthday dinner, but after that he'll go back to his mom's overnight because they're leaving early tomorrow to go move him in.

I know I should be feeling something right now, but I think I'm just shoving it down because I don't know how to deal with it... But I think I'm going to either face that one when he leaves tonight, or when his siblings wake up tomorrow morning and he's not here.

It's weird...

I hear ya.  Next Thursday will be our last night with our daughter before college.  And although I know she'll be back for holidays and it's likely she'll move back in with us for the next couple of summers, it's not the same.  It'll never be the same.  She will never "live with" us again.  And it's right, and it's appropriate, and it's what she will need for her future, but it's still surreal and difficult to imagine for me.  We've been the majority of her world for the past almost-19 years, and we're now at the point where it's time for her to leave us and begin finding out how to make her own way.

I'm proud, I'm overwhelmed, and I'm devastated.  And, I wouldn't and couldn't have it any other way.

Kids are great, but they are even better when you get them off your payroll.

Trust me on this.

Membership HLP

Perched 26 stories above the city with sweeping Atlanta skyline views, Buckhead Club brings together exceptional dining, celebrated hospitality, and a community of accomplished professionals, entrepreneurs, and families. Here, every meal, celebration, and conversation becomes part of a lifestyle defined by connection, culture, and elevated experiences.

The "Buckhead Club" ....  is anybody here a member of something of this ilk?  I'm reminded of Groucho Marx, and have all my life disdained clubs, and that is unlikely to change, but maybe I'm missing something.  I notice their photo has fairly attractive women depicted, which probably means the club is mostly old men.

The Class of 2030 was selected out of more than 51,000 applicants, a university record.

The oldest public university in the country.  Sort of.

Unfortunately, they didn't welcome a grammar check on their graphic.

We had our last baseball game today.  Our coach started a pitcher we know can't throw strikes, and he couldn't, again.  He told me to "be ready", so after one out in the first, bases loaded, 4 runs in, the coach called me into the game (I was playing first).  OK fine, no biggee.  I did "OK", our defense is ... inept.  The first guy hit  routine grounder to our SS and it went through his legs.  Could have ended the inning.  I toil on.  Pitched the second and had one out in the third, bearing in mind outs were hard to come by, I managed a couple Ks.  I was gassed.  It was a thousand degrees out there, so I told our coach, who plays (sorta) third base, I was done, probably 150 pitches.  Maybe 200.  I won't count the errors.

So,  The next P comes and walks about 4 in a row and finally there is a ball hit to our SS who fields it this time and flips to me, I'm at 2B, I make the throw in time to first, DP!!!  Yay.  I'm first up to bat the next inning, barely able to move, and somehow hit an 0-2 pitch on a line to right center, yay me.  I don't hit so well now.  Anyway, season over, we were 0-fer, usually by run rule.  I think the score was 19-0.

At some point this is starting to sound like elder abuse.
