Chicago is one of the few places I've never visited.  People call it the windy city. 

I admit, I don't care for a lot of wind when it's very cold.  That would get on my nerves.  I like the cold, but with non-windy conditions. 

Hmm.

Windy City comes from 19th Century politics.  I suspect there has been no measurable change for the better.  Boston is actually windier, it says.

And Dodge City, Kansas comes in at #4, first 2 in Alaska, with only Cheyenne, Wyoming being worse in the continental 48.

been to Chicago a few times, always enjoyed it.  Never noticed the wind much

I was in Cincy once where the wind was hard to walk against 

and if by chance, the wind is out of the northeast coming off the lake in the winter..........  brrr

So now they're thinking that the leftover weather from this thing is going to bring rain to Central Texas at the end of next week.  Hurricanes that hit the Texas coast directly from the Gulf bring us nothing, but a Pacific storm traveling all the way cross Baja and Mexico is going to make rain here?  I mean, I'm all in if it happens, but... ?

Wind coming off the lake in the winter is actually a warming action. Not so much in the summer. Then it's cooling.
