I love cold weather, I've just almost always lived in places that barely have any.  I've spent time in NYC, St. Louis, Rock Springs (WY) and Denver (well, outside of Denver, up in the mountains) in Jan. and Feb., and it was wonderful.  I'm the opposite of utee94 talking about how 80 degrees is getting too chilly.  I don't consider myself particularly hot-natured.....I need to bundle up as much as anyone if it's cold.  I just like the cold.   

Granted, I'm not sure how I'd feel about it if blisteringly cold temps were my reality every day, each year, or I worked outside.  But it sure does sound nice.

I didn't mind it nearly as much as a kid or young man - hunting, Ice fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, 4 wheeling, were a lot of fun

It just wears on you as you get older

I don't love hot, nor cold.

I'll have to say, the weather/temps in San Fran when I was there at the first part of June was probably ideal for me.  Although I was totally perplexed by folks swimming in the Bay waters.  It had to be frigid.

You remind me that I've spent quite a bit of time around Thanksgiving and Christmas in both the Ozarks and the Smokies, and loved that too.  

Don't know if the yankees would consider that "real" winter, and I'm not sure how the months of November and December compare to January and February there, but I sure liked it.

I don't mind visiting cold places during cold months. 

I no longer want to live in it for months at a time. 

It's a lot easier to grin and bear it when you know you're getting on a plane and leaving soon.

BUT

Chicago is one of the few places I've never visited.  People call it the windy city.  

I admit, I don't care for a lot of wind when it's very cold.  That would get on my nerves.  I like the cold, but with non-windy conditions.

I always thought people were referring to cold, wintry, and windy conditions.  

See, if I'd ever visited Chicago, I'd probably know that.
