Beat my best score on my favorite golf course by ten strokes. (Still not that impressive--shot an 87; I'm not a good golfer.) I was locked in. Kind of funny; it was a super foggy day, and about half of our shots we couldn't see where they were landing. I was also paired with a Chinese guy who literally spoke no English (he handed me his phone with a translation on it: "I do not speak English."). I was driving the cart; when I asked him where his ball went (off of a tee shot that I didn't see him take), he didn't know what I was asking. I had to speak into his phone, which translated it for him. I figured gesticulating would have let him know what I was asking, but nope.
Anyway, not being able to see our shots made the whole thing kind of silly; that and not having someone to talk to in the cart, maybe that's what I needed to lock in (or maybe tune out the voices in my head) and play bogey golf (-). Golf is a funny game.
