Forgot to mention, this past weekend I finally got around to replacing the light switch for the dining room.  The dimmer had quit working many years ago.  I never paid it any mind, but every now and then Mrs. DeT would lament not being able to set the mood she wants on special occasions where we have people over.  I had two false starts with the switch itself, and another one when I incorrectly wired it as a 3-way the first time and the switch was backwards, up was off and down was on.  It did not come with directions, but after looking them up on the company's website, I successfully wired it single-pole.  Actually, there was another snag when I realized the wiring in the box was all black instead of color coded.  I didn't know which was line side and which was load side.  I looked that up online too and felt I was able to make a good guess, which turned out to be correct.

No house fires, no electrocutions.  And now Mrs. DeT can have her dimly lit dining room.

I really should get a multimeter, learn how to use it, and learn something about electricity.  Probably.  Re-doing old outlets was always so straight forward.  The switch got the better of me a few times before I got it licked.

My wife talked me into getting a massage one time in Hawaii.  OK, seemed like a thing.  She likes'em, I couldn't stand it.  I wanted to leave after 15 minutes, but it was a "couples" massage and the lady masseuse seemed nice enough.  I have some quirky dislikes, like "Hamilton" I guess, and New Zealand saublancs, and New Orleans and Amsterdam.

She has asked me several times to get another one but finally I told her it was not my thing, I never wanted one again, ever.

So, today, so far, no massage, which makes me happy.

About 3 years ago, we were visiting middle kid in Tampa.  She signed the wife and I up for our first ever massages.

We both liked it.  One of us more than the other, apparently.

Lots of consequences to that day.

Wife told me she was quitting being my assistant, which caused me to move from working from home--for 6 years--to renting an office downtown--I couldn't very well hire some lady to come work at my house.  Cha. Ching.

She went to Massage Therapy school right here at the little State University.

Has her own space rented in a Wellness Clinic.

Although it probably got closer to causing a divorce than working together ever did, it's working out in the end.

And, I get "free" massages when some paying client doesn't take my spot on Friday afternoon.

Bruh, wording....

I totally thought your story was headed somewhere completely different after this.  I was reaching for the popcorn with wide eyes.

I didn't even use the term "massage parlor."

Sorry to disappoint!

Do you have something a lot of folks really like that you pretty much loathe?  Caviar?  Champagne?  Zinfandel?  Corvettes?

Pickles for me.  I hate 'em.  Many folks seem to like 'em.
