I think I would rank them:
1) Frankenstein
2) Bugonia
3) Sinners
4) One Battle After Another
5) The Secret Agent
6) F1
Updated list of my perspective on Best Picture nominees that I've seen:
1) Frankenstein
2) Hamnet--this really surprised me. I was disinterested in this movie, but decided to give it a shot on a plane ride home. It's much better than I expected, and it has a different take on a period drama than I expected. Best actress was well deserved, and it's a good take on historical fiction. Sad, but a meaningful approach to the arc of human emotions. Given the subject matter and where I started from when I began this movie, maybe it really is the "best" picture.
3) Bugonia--weird, which I like, and I'm a sucker for Emma Stone. One really good twist; one not so good twist.
4) Sinners--the most fun on this list. Rewatched it recently and enjoyed it more than I remembered the first time.
5-8 are practically interchangeable for me:
5) One Battle After Another--just a long action movie with a time arc and some interesting family dynamics.
6) The Secret Agent--the last act came on too abruptly and changed the story arc too much for me.
7) Marty Supreme--I toyed with whether to put this one above the Secret Agent, but I was more invested in the Secret Agent's story arc throughout, and I was disappointed with both endings.
8) Train Dreams--another one for a long plane flight. I enjoyed it, and it is beautifully done and avoids Hollywood tropes, which is refreshing. While I understood its message, it just wasn't that moving.
9) F1--fun race car movie, but didn't do anything new or better than other race car movies before it. Ford vs. Ferrari is a superior film.
Only one I haven't seen is Sentimental Value. I'll probably watch it at some point.
