I’m fascinated by the tariff motivations. It’s ultimately the government working to dictate what we buy and making sure we spend more. 

And it gets into all sorts of issues of product differentiation and free market values.

Eh, it starts with the assumption that anti-competitive behavior is bad, but if one party is engaging in it, then the other would be stupid not to, as well.  Heck simple game theory results in this outcome, of course.

you have to match tariffs or other countries will run all over us in trade deficit which means less production and less GNP

Badge what's your point? Are you saying that the facts reported here are incorrect? Both MSNBC and Fox News are capable of factual reporting, regardless of their hard leans. The argument that CBS leans left doesn't tell us anything about this fact check.

CBS links the direct source it quotes: here.

That source is taking an anti-Canada stance, but supports the reporting here.
