I've never been on Twitter.  It's never been reliable enough for me to bother with as a source of news.  And the rest is just trash.

I do sometimes post funny comments or memes from Twitter, when I see them on other message boards.

Media literacy is a fascinating topic. Someday, maybe when I'm retired, I think I want to teach a class to high schoolers on it, using sports as the vehicle.

Twitter--with an appropriate skepticism, was a great way to find information about things that the MSM didn't make time for. No longer.

I spend too much time on it.

If you avoid the algorithm tab, you just see stuff from people you want to see stuff from. And that can be fine.

so if you choose to see brain rot political nonsense, you get what you chose.

Aside from an occasional funny meme, there is nothing on Twitter that I want to see, no one on Twitter that I want to see anything from.

I've never had any issue finding out what I want to know from more reliable media sources.

Huh--speaking of media literacy, I wasn't aware I could get rid of all the crap on that site. Silly me. But for the cesspool that it's become, I don't want my clicks to support it. It's just too gross. So I'm not going back.

Moving this here, @SuperMario

Smart move. Very cool area. isn't just east of you unbuildable land? Seems like a very nice and quiet area

Most of it is buildable, and there are roughly 10,000 new homes and commercial in the works over the next 5-10 years.

Sometimes it's too quiet here, to be honest. But it's a wonderful community.

Fully agree. And he would know more than all of us due to SFIrish's experience.

I circled the portion of BSM in the lower left. We are in Lee County.

Is all of that far enough above sea level to not get bulldozed by storm surge?

Yes, much of it is, and they are adding more dirt (sand) as I type to get all of the houses to the minimum 12' elevation now required here.

Most of that land is above the latest floodplain determination, done in 2022. They call it Zone D, so when the grading is done they will need to do a FEMA Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) to get it into Zone X. That's important because with Zone X, banks don't require flood insurance.

I do not have flood insurance. Marker is my house.
