The super-wealthy buy off the politicians to write the laws they want. This is nothing new. It has just been exacerbated and made worse by things like the citizens united ruling. Now the money flowing into campaign donations and pacs is just obscene and unprecedented. Dan Rather did a great news program on a channel that Mark Cuban owned called HDNet back in the day- maybe 12-15 years ago- and one of the 60 minute episodes was on lobbying and the money that's poured into K-street. In the 1980's, there was maybe a few hundred registered lobbyists in DC- when Rather did this show back in 2005-2006- he reported that in 2005-2006 there was 30,000 registered lobbyists in DC. 30,000. In just a 20-25 year span- when from few hundred to 30,000. That number is no doubt even larger now. DC is now the richest city in the United States. It had never been in the history of this country. This isn't a coincidence.

There is one party that rules this country. Always find it fascinating that people are so pathetic and root for the Blue team over the Red or vice versa. They disagree on very little, mostly unimportant things. For the most part- they are one party. Why are they one party? They are controlled by their masters who donate to their campaigns. You scratch my back- I scratch yours. This country has descended into fascism where the line between the largest corporations and the government to the point where the line is non-existent- they are one in the same- they have merged.
