I got some more really good feedback on my book from an Army guy whose son graduated from VMI. I have some work to do. He did say he enjoyed the book after it "got going". I may need to trim/cut much of the initial parts. He called out quite a few typos as well, which I can appreciate.
I called Maxcy Greg General Maxcy in one spot. Bummer. He was rather flamboyant apparently, maybe I should flesh him out a bit more.
I don't see how anyone much survived those battles. At Second Manassas, several regiments stood in line in the open at 60 yards having at it, with rifled muskets.
I'm also amazed how many of the wounded survived. And how many disease took, I probably should note that.
Book Three is coming along now, I had to bring in Nathan Forrest of course who takes a liking to our "hero". Jackson is prepared to assault Grant near Memphis.
So, well, I changed things a bit. I think Grant is going to win that fight.
