I'd just stay with the beef.
I see it's the time of year for stories proclaiming shock that people in WI like cannibal sandwiches.   The state health people with their annual warning.   I do like it , though not as much as a Lebanese kibbeh nayeh.  Call it steak tartare and throw a yolk in it and the NYT will sing its praises.

For those scoring at home, fairly popular holiday app.  Fresh ground sirloin, served raw, w raw onions and s&p.  Served on cocktail rye.   Memories of it suggest I only remember seeing it served between Thanksgiving and say the Super Bowl.

the bar in Crofton, NE serves it in the fall for Husker games

they simply call it Tiger Meat

Crofton is a rural town of around 700 people just south of Yankton, SD, Gavin's Point Dam, and Lewis & Clark Lake

Trump apparently heavily considering to pardon Julian Assange and Edward Snowden on his way out. God I hope he does it. It’s a god damn CRIME what the US intelligence goon squad and corrupt as all hell DoJ has done to both these men.

here's a list for Cincy............

https://thegruelingtruth.com/college-football/top10qbs-college-football-history/?fbclid=IwAR3eZrq_O9xUJU86ZEkwddU9Xl4BY1eDHx24hqon3_pii7MBkjCx-jchjmk

10) Jim Plunkett
Jim Plunkett was the quarterback for Stanford University in the late 1960s.  Plunkett overcame adversity in his first season at Stanford.  He had to have a thyroid operation which caused him to lose his spot as a quarterback on the team.

9) Chris Weinke
Chris Weinke played quarterback for Florida State starting in 1997; he was 25 years old.

8) Michael Vick
This guy played like Superman.  Now he only played two seasons, but if you saw him play in college, you know why he made my list.

7) Joe Namath
Joe Namath played QB for Alabama from 1962 to 1964.  In that time he had a 29-4 record as the starting quarterback.

6) Charlie Ward
Charlie Ward won the 1993 Heisman as the Florida State quarterback.  He also won the Maxwell, O’Brien, and numerous other awards.

5) Doug Flutie
Doug Flutie is  probably most famous for the “Miracle in Miami.”  However, he did quite a bit more at Boston College. The number one achievement was he made Boston College relevant on the national stage.

4) Steve McNair
Steve McNair wanted so much to play college quarterback that he turned down a scholarship from Florida because they offered it to him as a defensive back. I think Florida now regrets that decision.

3) Vince Young
Vince Young was amazing.  We all remember Young’s Texas Longhorns and their epic game for the title against USC. That game showed you what a great college QB Vince Young was, the last few minutes of that game cemented his legend.

2) Tim Tebow
In 2006 he played sparingly. In 2007, he had a 172.5 passer rating, 3,286 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and only six interceptions.  He also rushed for 895 yards and 23 more touchdowns.

1) Tommie Frazier
Tommie Frazier was an incredible quarterback.  He earned the 1994 and 1995 Orange Bowl Most Valuable Player Awards, the 1995 Johnny Unitas Award, and the 1996 Fiesta Bowl MVP.

Frazier led the Cornhuskers to back-to-back national championships in 1994 and 1995.  These teams are still legendary, the 95 team is considered by many the greatest ever.

Frazier also led his team to four Big Eight Conference Championships and finished with a 33-3 record overall as a starter.

I like lists.  You know the all time SEC passing leader?  Few do.  He's considered to have been a decent QB of course, he passed for over 3,000 yards in each of his 4 years.

He's now an announcer, an "OK" one I'd say, not great.  He's the color guy.

We should have a list of best lists of all time somewhere.

MERRY CHRISTMAS :-)

A Couple Out Christmas Shopping

Quote

A couple were in a busy shopping center just before Christmas.
The wife suddenly noticed that her husband was missing and as they had a lot to do, she called him on her cellphone.

The wife said "Where are you, you know we have lots to do."
He said "You remember the jewelery store we went into about 10 years ago, and you fell in love with that diamond necklace?
I could not afford it at the time and I said that one day I would get it for you?"

Tears started to flow down her cheek and she got all choked up…
"Yes, I do remember that shop." she replied.
"Well, I am in the golf shop next door to that."

The wife went to Kroger this morning and came home complaining about how rude the check out lady was.

I asked her if she used the self checkout lane.

She isn't speaking to me.

If Joe Namath was an all-time top 10 college QB, then I was an all-time top 10 college WR.
People's inability/unwillingness to detach college from NFL success will forever drive me crazy.  And he wasn't that good in the NFL, either.  If he was Joe Blow on the Eagles with the exact same career, no one would remember him today.

Well, Joe WAS a college QB of some note of course.  I was not a college WR of any note at any level.

These top ten lists either rely on opinions or some set of "statistics" selected using opinions.

from the article ....

Perhaps the greatest compliment a football player could receive was given to Joe Namath.  Paul “Bear” Bryant said that Namath was the greatest athlete he ever coached.

Namath’s stats weren’t all that impressive, but it was the way he played the game that lands him on my list.  Fearless, confident, and never backing down.  Joe Namath quarterbacked the Alabama Crimson Tide during the civil rights upheaval of the 1960s.

Joe Namath stood up for African Americans against some of his white teammates.  He didn’t back down, he stood for what was right, and for that and much more he makes my list. His pro career was never what it could have been because of the knee injuries that nagged him his entire career. Watch him before the knee injuries started at Alabama, and you will realize sadly Namath would have been one of the greatest QB’s to ever play at any level without the injuries.

Just for clarification, Namath had no black teammates at Alabama.  Bama didn't integrate until 1971.  USC--with an all-black backfield--beating-down the Tide 42-21 in Birmingham in 1970 was what got the Bama PTBs to support integration of the football team.

Yeah....buncha crap.  I wonder how many "best athletes" Bear Bryant coached.

I guess I'd rather have a meager coward at QB who played better, lol.  But I'm usually wrong.

It seems that maybe Namath is past his drinking problems, so that's good.  I hope he's able to keep that up.

I got an apple pie this morning from McDonalds.  For 59 cents, it's a great deal.
