not worried about riots here in rural NW Iowa

I little worried about the poll workers.  One lady had to be late 80's or more likely early 90s.  She was wearing a mask and had a plexiglass barrier, but handing out papers to sign all day to everyone coming through the line sitting inside at a table.

I'm not sure if masks are required to vote.  Didn't see a sign.  I wore a mask and everyone else at 7am had a mask, but..........

Based on what?  If your going to make a very stupid, POLITICAL statement like that ( which you should not be doing here), at least have it based in reality.

The people who are boarding up their businesses are not worried about a trump loss. They have seen with her own eyes who is planning the destruction and have already seen some of those plans which have been leaked. It is not Trump supporters and you know that.

When you have Democratic senators, and the Attorney General of the state of Pennsylvania saying things like “the only way Biden can lose is by voter suppression” or “we already know when the votes are counted that the Democrats will win Pennsylvania”, Those are louder than dog whistle’s but open calls for violence and protesting should trump happen to win.

To clarify, political talk on this thread hasn't been disallowed.  The only one I care about is the Coronavirus thread.

I think it's a bad idea to talk politics on any of the football board threads, since there's an entire Forum on this message board dedicated to politics, but that bit is up to you all.

Masks are required in all public buildings here.  Nothing specific about the voting requirements, but the voting booths are all located in public buildings, so by default...

I early voted last week, everyone was wearing masks, the poll volunteers were behind plexiglass screens, they had little finger condoms for you to put on to use the touchscreen, all reasonable precautions were being taken, that I could tell.

They're easy fodder for politicians to use to generate publicity with clickbait stories that snappy boomers flock to?

There was a kerfuffle in my state where someone made a pol feel bad about voting without a mask. You're allowed to do it, but mostly because one gov order supersedes another.

I had to drop a check off at the brokerage so we took in an early lunch at our favorite cafe.  I often order smoked salmon benedict there, and did this time.

The cute young server asked me if I wanted my salmon "medium".  I thought I did not hear correctly through the mask.  She repeated it.  I looked confused and then explained the salmon was smoked, so it wasn't cooked.  She said "Oh, sorry, I'm fairly new here and still learning."  No kidding.

Well, after she left the wife went on a RANT about how the cute young thing was VOTING.  I explained to the wife some of the history in the US with things like literacy tests and voting and how a fair number of illiterate people vote legally.  They get a card with the boxes in the right places and vote accordingly.  The wife was ... um, well, not very happy.

Later two men sit down at a table ten feet away, fine, but one of them is wearing a fully on respirator.  OK, fine, he's being careful, but he's DINING in an outdoor cafe, and takes it off of course.  Why wear a respirator walking down the sidewalk and then dine at an outdoor cafe?

Maybe we should have a system where "we" don't vote directly for President, we vote for someone to represent us who actually knows a bit, can read, doesn't wear a respirator, and knows that smoked salmon won't be cooked in the kitchen.  The, later, THEY could vote for President, say mid-December.

reasonable precautions, but possibly a uptick in cases next week fro this in-person voting

wasn't there an increase in cases in Wisconsin way back when they held an election?

A non-stupid system? Would never work.
