To be fair, it is a stupid system. Most people want to believe we have smart systems, so they assume competence where none exists.

Gorgeous weather here again, blue skies, 47°F at the moment.  The tile laying folks should be back soon, they can't start until 9:30 (building rules).  They laid about 20 sq ft yesterday, they started late.  The wife likes it.  I like it.  The decks are about 140 sq ft.

We noticed the newer fancier buildings have narrower decks, which makes sense as you "sell" interior space.

I get tired of hearing the term "open concept" on HGTV as if someone wants to rehab that is NOT OC.  Duh.

I dislike the term "en suite" as well, it's a bathroom.

You really need two sinks in the master bath unless you live alone.

We opened up the house here. Took out the kitchen wall and now we have one big room, for cooking, dining and TV watching/sitting.

It's 66 right now, with low humidity. The high will be about 80. This is why I moved here.

I do like to have seasons, just not a miserable one.

The tile guys say they will be done by tomorrow.  We lived for months during the kitchen redo that was rather painful, this is a walk in the park.

Which we will do in a bit.  It's 52°F now.

My step son got me an Apple watch and iPhone for my BDay.  It's a nice watch, but has some function that periodically tells me to breathe.  I can't turn that off apparently.

Fingers crossed that this will be the final week of reno here. Then we just have random things that we will mostly self-perform, along with punch lists.

Grout in the kitchen today. Finish work in the master. Master should be complete today.

We did a kitchen in the house about 5 years ago.  The wife got really really stressed (I didn't).  It took three months mostly because they ordered the wrong island top.

This one lasted nearly 3 months mostly because the electrician added some strip outlets after the backsplash boys had measured, so the backsplash had to be remeasured and recut.  There was so much reno work going on in the city everything was backed up.

Little things cause delays.

I thought the kitchen was OK when we bought the unit.  We did fatten up the cabinets which helps a lot in a smallish kitchen.

The brand new condos being built have some nice kitchens in them appearancewise anyway, because of course that sells.

Beauty of a day in Columbus too. Started out cold but already warming up, a high around 60. We are going to do a renovation at some point. Not sure how extensive. We have a big sun room and I'd like to convert it to a big living room.

It's an antiquated system, based on a country that bears little resemblance to today. It was back when state borders were more than merely lines on a map. I wouldn't call it a "stupid" system though.

That's a nice looking kitchen, CDawg.

16-year old daughter cut 13-year old son's hair last night, mostly because son doesn't trust mom anymore to have modern style.

I had to leave in the middle of it, and SFIrish was on a business call, so I was a little worried that I'd come home to a Sweeney Todd situation. Fortunately, it went quite well. The boy's hair is still way too long for my taste (and definitely SFIrish's), but at least it's cleaned up, and "fashionable" by his (and the daughter's) standards.

Too many have been raised to believe they are special and deserve all of the attention they can get. Probably a bunch of participation trophy recipients.

As to the point of the article, perhaps instead of charging the University for the additional law enforcement expenses, they should charge the parents of these entitled brats. That would get their attention.

In other news, I overheard two folks talking about not understanding why the one who wins the popular vote is not President.  Neither of them said "electoral college", they just did not appear to understand the System.  They weren't saying it should change, they just didn't understand it, probably 28 years old or so.

Yet another indictment of our publicly funded, educational system.

I worry that when POTUS loses, he's going to incite his fans via tweet to cause mayhem.
And past experience would indicate that you have nothing to worry about.

Based on what?  If your going to make a very stupid, POLITICAL statement like that ( which you should not be doing here), at least have it based in reality.

The people who are boarding up their businesses are not worried about a trump loss. They have seen with her own eyes who is planning the destruction and have already seen some of those plans which have been leaked. It is not Trump supporters and you know that.

When you have Democratic senators, and the Attorney General of the state of Pennsylvania saying things like “the only way Biden can lose is by voter suppression” or “we already know when the votes are counted that the Democrats will win Pennsylvania”, Those are louder than dog whistle’s but open calls for violence and protesting should trump happen to win.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

payback for the cold a snow a couple weeks ago...

59 degrees here headed to a high of 73.  Light breeze, full sun.

The boss is taking the entire office out to lunch at the only decent seafood place in the area.  Then the afternoon off.  It's a good election day.  Likely to break the high temp for election day set in 1934.

Of course, I'm headed to the golf course after lunch to play 9 or a few more holes before dark.

I was the first to vote at 7am in my district.
