Oh, you can do it, but others can't.  Got it.  Again, way to keep it objective.

Newsom is currently facing a recall petition. Needs to get 1.5M signatures within the next month or so IIRC to force a special election.

Last time we recalled a governor we ended up with Ahhnold. Betcha this time if we recall him, we elect Kim Kardashian.
I wonder if the mechanics are the same. I recall that if the incumbent was the right blend of unpopular and uninteresting, it lined up super well for a challenger.

That was a weird summer.

When your state is the Borg and you control the mothership, you can pretty much do whatever you want without consequence.

Anyone that objects is simply dismissed as an Alt-Right Nazi Klansman from the trailer park who hates clean air, and doesn't believe in climate change.
Single-party dominant states do tend to create weird outcomes. I live in one controlled by one party, and holy hell are those folks corrupt.

The worst part is if it gets really unbalanced, you end up with more and more fringy folks in the minority party because your more viable and popular candidates look for races they can win. Some of those folks in my home state are low-key loony toons (are are many of their majority opponents).

It points to the kind of oddity of our state border situations. Like, Ca. had more voters for that minority party's presidential candidate than 30 or so states have people overall (and the flip side is Texas had as many voters in their minority party as 28 states have people). But arbitrary boarders draw things up in such odd ways.

We have a female US Rep a bit north of me who thinks the schools shootings may be false flags.

I hate arbitrary boarders, unless they pay the rent on time.

Ever catch that "How the states got their shape" show, probably on History channel?  It's interesting sometimes.

As someone who has dabbled in surveying, the book is even more interesting. Most of the borders aren't too exciting, but there are some real doozies.

Currently, the boundary between the Carolinas is being updated thanks to high accuracy modern instrumentation, and it's causing chaos in a lot of places.
