He's being fired for cause, so the contract has no buy out.

It's apparently "condoning" violations, or not doing enough to stop them.  The details are sparse, and I expect Pruitt's lawyer will negotiate a parting gift.

Pruitt may have problems finding a coaching job now though even as DC.

Nah, it's 1970's style.  Literal bags of cash

I've been reading more than usual about our Civil War back in the day and remain impressed with several basic things:

1.  How armies back then were not wiped out by disease, and of course more of the 620,000 or so who died did so of disease than combat.

2.  How they could at times line up 60 yards apart with rifles and have at it, as they did at Second Manassas for an hour or so, in the open, and not wipe each other out.

3.  How they could march so far in a day, and get up and do it again, often barefoot (Valley Campaign 1862).

4.  How they appear relatively impervious to heat, cold, mosquitos, ticks, fleas, insects of all kinds, snakes, and lions.

5.  How anyone could effectively control an army of 60,000 individuals.  I know in 1862, that control was often very limited.

another interesting fact was a soldiers average height was 5'8" and average weight was 143 pounds

ages ranged from 18 to 39 averaging 26

The wife and I walked today as is our wont, and stopped at Chick-Fil-A for a sammich.  We took our meals outside, there is a nice pocket park right there, and a pretty well dressed black guy approached me and asked if I'd buy him a sammich.  So, we go inside and I order a sammich and he says "Get a milkshake too" and I said no, just a sammich, I pay.  He comes out directly and sits in the park below us and eats.  He doesn't look homeless, to me, he has a fanny pack with something in it.  He finishes and waves as he departs and says "Thanks".

I hope he's OK, not sure why he was asking for food, other than being hungry, it must be kind of demoralizing to ask for something as basic as food.

Or maybe he's actually quite wealthy, and the way he preserves his wealth is by asking random people to buy him food.
