Or maybe he's actually quite wealthy, and the way he preserves his wealth is by asking random people to buy him food.
HA I was just reading on a Sparty Board about people buying the meal at drive thrus for the folks behind them.A feel good fleece IMO.Rather than randomely dumping 40 bucks on the SUV with 4 people behind you just donate to those in need if you have it

I was traveling from Texas to Iowa a few years ago, stopped in OKC for gas.  I man asked me for gas money.  Said he needed gas to get his family home.  I gave him 10 bucks.

I was walking out of the station after using the restroom.  The man was paying for gas at the counter.  Not buying food or drinks, just the gas.  Seemed legit, so when he came outside I gave him another 20.  Seemed he needed it more than I did.

The wife and I discussed this possibility, or that he was doing OK and was simply out of cash and had no CC.

I wish I could do more for the indigent though, somehow.

When the restaurants had to close down in March, they had a lot of food delivered or ordered, and "we" combined with a number of them to take that excess food and break it down  and repack it into boxes to give away, ostensibly to food industry workers, who now were out of a job.

Fortunately, the weather was very nice, rather sunny, and I got a bit of a burn.  We had 30-40 folks working, it was hard work, made about 4,000 boxes of food.  The cars were lined up in two lanes to get their box, probably a hundred  cars often as not, some expensive cars too.

It was enough to feed a family of four for 2-3 days I think.  It generated a LOT of cardboard waste.

There is a Catholic Church around the corner from the food pantry who let use their recycle bins as long as everything is flattened

We had dumpsters provided, the flattening part fell to me, on Day two anyway.  I was impressed just how much packaging is involved in food delivered.  The yogurt packages were the worst.

The wife just explained "INCREDIBLE!" that Lady GOOGOO is singing the national anthem.  I guess I don't keep up with pop music stars.

She wants to watch the inaugural.

I don't know where else to put this, but it should be known.  You know who lucked out with this covid thing?  Florida State.  They skipped what would have been one helluva whoopin'.

Yes, it bothers me.
