Agree 100%.  I've been forced to enact terminations as well, and it's much better when it's planned and controlled.

It's actually the main reason I bowed out of the "people manager" business.  I just couldn't take it.
Agree with both of you. It is the most unsettling part of my job and I agree with @SuperMario 's point, I'd be FURIOUS if someone leaked to the employee that we were about to terminate them.

I agree as well, but there’s a bigger point here.

why in the hell would you assemble a group of people and tell them their boss was being terminated before you actually told the person being terminated. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard in organizational management.

at the very least, it should have been done simultaneously.  there’s nothing more disrespectful and unprofessional than telling the people that work for a person that that person is being terminated before you actually tell the person

The only real winner here, is Notre Dame, who now finds themselves swept decisively to the side, and out of the public spotlight.

Pure made up BS.  Easy to spot since no one knows much of anything at this point.
I mean, it seems like his dalliances were considered something of an open secret. Shoot, he couldn’t even keep his socials looking clean.

Sounds like Michigan AD Warde Manuel's future is uncertain.  Michigan has brought in a DC legal firm to investigate the athletic department.  I'm neutral on him.  AD Warde has made some great hires but didn't like how he handled the Harbaugh situation.

Lol.. Oh I agree. I've seen it done the way Michigan did it as well. The employee being terminated should always be told first, but I was a part of a situation where the rest of the group were informed first because of the circumstances and the employee being terminated was not available for a period of time. Don't want to give more details, but shockingly there are times it has to be done backwards and it's NEVER ideal or desired to be done that way.. unless people in Ann Arbor are really that stupid and I can't count that out at this point.
