Ben's body is shot. Connor was never going to be able to replace Bell. He's a back-up, not a starter. I'd say they don't have a legit #1 WR either. I really like Claypool, but he looks like a very good #2 to me. JuJu-Smith was a complete creation of Antonio Brown's dominance. Once Brown left, he's fallen off the map completely. The guy should get off TikTok and practice on improving his speed. He's too slow.

I like how Tomlin and the organization don't waste time admitting to their dirty laundry and just let the egomaniacs like Antonio Brown, Leveon Bell, and now Schuster move on. Schuster turning more focus toward his online identity (like TikTok) at the expense of his athletic ability is really going to knock down the value of his next contract. I'm betting the Arizona Cardinals are interested. Lately they're a lot of style over substance.

Steelers running game collapsed mainly because defenses realized that you could load up 8 near the LOS and still defend the really really short passing game. I think Connor is a good back and if you get him for say 3y/11M you snap him up.

Juju, he's fine if you want to make him a No.2 as he usually cleans up on single team coverages. However if you want him pay him 14M/year by all means go ahead. There are a couple teams he'd probably be good on. Definitely the Packers, maybe the Seahawks and Raiders. The Rams are capped out but he'd also fit in well there.

The others, yes but I didn't have a problem w/ what Bell did. 2nd contracts are the only contracts that RBs get and he was looking down the barrel of a 400 touch season if he played on a franchise tag.

Feels like everyone in Houston suing Deshaun Watson for sexual assault. Not sure what to think of that.

count is up to 12 now. Typically I'm one to say- let them have their day in court- but when 12 people are coming at you- seems like there might be smoke to that fire.

This is all shocking to me, because Watson seemed like such a great guy.

Roethlisberger was an immature, old, over-sized, fat, frat boy. That one seemed obvious. Watson is a total out of left field.

so it looks like the Saints are moving forward with Jameis and Hill at QB. Not sure Hill is ever going to be more than a gadget player and Jameis has a big arm but he's been a turnover machine since his days at FSU. Jameis to me is a guy with all the physical talent, 6'4, 230", can move a little bit, big arm- has all the of the measurables but none of the intangibles or the mental mastery of the game someone like Brees had. Just don't see how he's going to mesh with someone like Sean Payton.

Saints have a Super Bowl contending roster at every position except QB. I could easily see the Saints slide from 12-4 to 9-7.

Patriots make a big splash on the free agent market, but not sure they landed anyone that is going to change life for them. Agolohor is a good #2 WR, and they got two very good- but not great TE's- neither of these guys is remotely close to Gronk/Hernandez in their primes- and Matt Judon was a nice signing- but just don't see any of those guys making a dramatic difference.

They'll definitely be a better team, but still need more help at WR and not sure Cam has it anymore. They needed to find a QB, whether it be trading to get Jimmy G back or moving up in the draft to get either Wilson or Fields or Mac Jones.

TE class isn't very good and if Pitts would fall taking him means you are passing up on a good WR or a QB. So Henry, while expensive is probably a good pickup.

Agolohor -  I'm sure Smith-Schuster is waiting it out, the TV deal kicks in 2 years and teams might go a little nuts when they have an idea what the salary cap is gonna be in the future, but he might have taken the same contract offer.

Judon, they got for a decent price.

I think they had 7 players opt out last year so they'll be better, probably 10-6ish if Cam is decent.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2021/insider/story/_/id/31142298/nfl-draft-trade-grades-dolphins-49ers-eagles-how-team-did-their-first-round-deals-next

On a wild Friday, news broke on two trades involving 2021 NFL draft picks within minutes of each other. First, the San Francisco 49ers altered their future by trading up to No. 3 overall, sending the Miami Dolphins their No. 12 overall pick, a 2022 first-rounder, a 2022 third-rounder and a 2023 first-rounder in return. Shortly after, the Dolphins jumped back up to No. 6 overall. The Philadelphia Eagles sent Miami that sixth pick and a fifth-rounder in exchange for the No. 12 pick, a fourth-rounder and a 2022 first-rounder.

Damn the Fins stocking up on draft options

Now seeing Mac Jones might go #3?

Based on composite rankings, in the 2017 class, Tu'a was the #3 QB, and Mac Jones was #29.

I can concede Alabama just brings in more talent than everyone, but now their backup plan QB is a top 3 pick?  That's unfair.  I think they actually wound up with the top 2 QBs in that class.

  • Davis Mills, Stanford
  • Hunter Johnson, Clemson
  • Tu'a Tagovailoa, Alabama
  • Jake Fromm, Georgia
  • Tate Martell, Ohio State
  • Jack Sears, USC
  • Kellen Mond, Texas A&M
  • Sam Ehlinger, Texas
  • Dylan McCaffrey, Michigan
  • Myles Brennan, LSU
  • Chris Robison, Oklahoma
  • Keytaon Thompson, Mississippi State
  • Sean Clifford, Penn State
  • Shawn Robinson, TCU
  • N'Kosi Perry, Miami
  • Tristan Gebbia, Nebraska
  • Kasim Hill, Maryland
  • Avery Davis, Notre Dame
  • Lowell Narcisse, LSU
  • Bailey Hockman, Florida State
  • Braxton Burmeister, Oregon
  • Chase Garbers, California
  • Tommy DeVito, Syracuse
  • Hendon Hooker, Virginia Tech
  • Ryan Kelley, Arizona State
  • Danny Clark, Kentucky
  • James Blackman, Florida State
  • Chase Brice, Clemson
  • Mac Jones, Alabama
