Eh, the obnoxious "White liberal stereotype" level trolling that OAM fancies is a dime a dozen. You can literally go to any message board in America, and find a dozen that are just like him. They come off of an assembly line. Frankly he's not even that good at it.

It takes a special kind of trolling to inspire everyone to defend their courting rituals from decades past. :d030:

Sorry that was a amatuer effort, report to OAM for instruction ;D

Yep. We were at a Country Western Bar in Lake Geneva. I was there with a buddy for a lame-ass bachelor party, and my wife and her friend were at the bar. My buddy pointed out my wife, and we blew off the bachelor party. Good decision.

Word.

I was at an Irish pub downtown, with my biddy Bald Greg (whom you've met of course) and we were about to leave.  I saw Mary with a friend of hers sitting at a booth and stopped to talk to her for a bit.  I'd actually run into her a couple of times over the years while we were both in college, one time at a mutual friend's wedding where we both had dates, and one time at a restaurant with her family right when she'd moved back to Austin, but she was still funny and introduced herself.  I laughed and said "I know who you are."

It was a Friday night and I was taking the boat out the next day, so I invited her out to the lake with us.  The boat did its magic, and the rest is history.

Who would settle down with one broad, when they have a boat and boating capabilities? :D

Oh the boat served me well, for many years, before I settled down.

But you know, as they say:

I mean that's two entire decades. So far.

That's quite a bit of tail for a fella to voluntarily screw oneself out of.

I met my first wife at a bar. You all know how that worked out.

She was what Badge thinks of when you think of California people...

I like to make fun of course, and Texas and California certainly have a bit of a friendly rivalry, but I've found it to be true that people around the world are all pretty much the same--- even Californians. :)

It'll be margaritas and palomas most likely, sitting on the beach at a Mexican resort.

That's true, of course. Deep down, people are the same. My ex was a narcissist, which is not unique to SoCal. I'm sure you have more than a few in Texas. Most Californians are nice.

Sounds like you met yours at a bar, lol. Glad it worked, not saying it is always trouble. Just not the best strategy imo.

As for Church, I think that there main selling point these days is not so much the theology, as that it is a good place to meet a woman that will have a punchers chance of being a sound wife and mother; rather than some barfly puking on her shoes, or worse yet, that crazy feminist that you dated like an idiot while you were at the University.
Lol. Nah, we didn’t meet at a bar. I’ve never been a fan of bars, even in college.  That’s just one of those pieces of advice that’s easy to punch holes in.  If you take that logic to the Nth degree then anyone who has ever been in a bar isn’t marriage material.
