You should visit Chicago. It's a great city to visit. Obviously people have mixed feelings about living there, but there are lots of cool things to do and see downtown.

Windy City comes from 19th Century politics.  I suspect there has been no measurable change for the better.  Boston is actually windier, it says.

And Dodge City, Kansas comes in at #4, first 2 in Alaska, with only Cheyenne, Wyoming being worse in the continental 48.

100 miles away by highway from me, closer as the crow flies.

Wind Chill is a thing.

Wish I would've when it was more feasible.  My traveling/tourist days are likely over.  

I haven't been to SF in nearly 30 years, and I always meant to go back again.  If I had some do-overs, I'd probably have taken another trip there rather than try out Chicago for the first time.  

Nothing against Chicago.

haven't been to Alaska yet, but been to the others
south dakota is windy

been to Chicago a few times, always enjoyed it.  Never noticed the wind much

Been through Wyoming once.....in August.

Crazy windy.  Like, need a windbreaker or light jacket windy.  I was surprised.
