They are popular here, and I've driven them: they are sporty, particularly as SUVs go. Lots of torque, handle well. But they are SUVs, so that puts a damper on sportiness.
We thought seriously about buying one, but the pending battery death, rendering the car little more than scrap metal salvage, dissuaded us.
And I agree with the sentiment that they are just not the same as a real Mustang.
