I test drove a CT6 a while back when it had that Northstar engine.  For my tastes, way too big and way too floaty.  I think they did have a "V" version at some point, I didn't drive it.  I was semi-interested in a CT4 BW at one point.  Reality is for us olsters,  the Tucson works pretty well, decent room, quiet ride, OK acceleration, OK mpgs.  We drove out to Monroe, GA today and I was musing that it's a pretty OK vehicle, for us.  Just boring.

I might have gone for the BMW X1 except for its transmission.

I prefer a tighter suspension at the cost of some ride comfort.  The magnaride suspension is pretty solid.  The CTS we had was very tight on curves.

My 73 Nova had an F41 suspension that was .... very hard.

Don't want to dump on anyone's favorites (this isn't likely to be anyone's favorite, but maybe one you like), but on my recent vacation our rental car was a Charger. I was kind of excited about it until I popped the trunk. Tiny (for a "full sized" car). Should have taken the Altima instead. Probably goes back to the reason I'm not really a car (or truck) guy anymore: I care more about the car doing its boring job than I do about it driving fast or sounding cool. I would be perfectly happy to have the latter two, but the first--doing its job--is a gating issue for me. How dull.

Larger FWD cars will have a spacious trunk, see Impalas for an example, HUGE trunk.  Our CTS had a fairly small trunk because of AWD.  That rear diff is a space hog.

The GTI had a pretty decent rear area because of FWD for a small car.  That might be the "best" car for driving I've ever owned, not cruising on a freeeway, but driving.
