Agree.

For overall unis, I admit I love Penn State's home unis and Texas' road-whites.  And though I absolutely despise admitting this and despise even more knowing it's the truth....I quite like Ole Miss' dark blue unis.  Their soft blues are awful and better represent the abominable team that they are.

The local crackers love it.

I think it's just OK.

Me?

1. Hogfish (just got 4 pounds)

2. Tripletail
3. Snapper
4. Grouper
5. Cobia
For me- nothing beats Cobia ( except walleye).
To me, it is the Filet Mignon of salt water fish.

brush it lightly with olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Wrap it in aluminum foil and put it on the grill for 8 to 9 minutes.  Incredible!

My 3-4-5 are interchangeable. Cobia could easily be #3. We buy it quite often. It's another species that you have to go out pretty far to get (the "dropoff").

I hear they are great fighters.

I imagine @Honestbuckeye can get them closer than we can, perhaps in the Gulf Stream?

We like to shop at this place, my wife loves it, I see all kinds of fish I never heard of in their banks.  I nearly always get ahi tuna, we both like it.  I should try some of these other varieties sometime.  The offer to filet and dress the ones that look "whole", I think they all were gutted.

True, and the local fish shops as well as Publix often carries them fresh caught.

Fresh caught, to me, would mean "Caught that day, chilled, shipped that day, and delivered, never frozen".  But, it doesn't.

At some of the fish markets near me- that is exactly what it means.

It can, if you're near an ocean.  I'd guess I could not buy "fresh" fish around here, ever.  The label gets thrown around a lot when it isn't.

I can go down to the docks and pick out what I want. Restaurants go first, of course.

Usually, we just go to one of these places. They are primo.

Fresh Catch Fish Company – Fresh Catch Fish Co.

Cape Coral Fresh Seafood Market | Red Snapper, Cod, Halibut, Haddock

Pine Island Seafood Co. | Formerly Barnhill Seafood | Fresh Gulf Seafood in Matlacha, FL
