Someone infused money.

I think it's the Kellner guy, and a few more of the "big boy" list of donors.

$285 Mil for a facility, and they went from a $10 Mil payroll to $32-35 Mil, in one year.

yup, a year ago or so, Rhule got a big bump of money for the roster - like 30 mil or something

he then says publicly, we have what we need to compete.  Hah!  that was LAST season

he didn't realize there was another huge bump coming for the top 10 guys, especially Texas oil money.

then he has to backpedal and say, er, we need another 20 mil to get to 50

Schedule isn't as brutal as it was last season, and hopefully, for the first time since he's been in Madison, the starting QB can make it through the season.

The starting QB's have made a total of 14 starts since 2022.

it's rough when you have injuries that take you out - QB obviously the most important for most programs

Huskers were 6-2 and leading USC when Raiola went down...........

Nebraska led 14-6 at the half after a pair of 75-yard touchdown drives while the Trojans’ own promising possessions ended in a pair of field goals.

Things seemed to be going the black-clad Huskers’ way when Andrew Marshall picked off a pass at the USC 34. But the tables quickly turned when Raiola lost the ball and suffered a lower-leg injury on a strip sack.

Things went south after that.  The competition also got tougher.

LinkedIn's methodology focuses heavily on graduates' career outcomes. Job placement tracks recent graduates from the 2020-2025 cohorts who began full-time employment or a graduate program in the same year they graduated.

The internships and recruiter demand factor combines the share of recent graduates who completed an undergraduate internship with demand from recruiters, measured through LinkedIn InMail outreach.

Career success measures the percentage of alumni who have gone on to gain entrepreneurial or leadership experience after graduation.

Network strength measures how connected alumni from the same school are to one another, as well as how well recent graduates are connected with alumni and current students.

Knowledge breadth measures the diversity of fields of study and skills acquired by recent graduates during their degrees. The four pillars focused on post-graduation outcomes each receive a weight of 1.0, while knowledge breadth receives a lower weight of 0.75.

To qualify for the ranking, a college must be a U.S.-based, regionally accredited four-year bachelor's degree institution that actively enrolls first-year students. It must also have at least 2,000 total alumni and at least 500 graduates from the 2020-2025 cohorts in LinkedIn's data.

The top 20 schools on LinkedIn's 2026 list are:

1 - Princeton University = Technology and Internet; Capital Markets; Business Consulting and Services

2 - Duke University = Technology and Internet; Capital Markets; Business Consulting and Services

3 - Harvard University = Technology and Internet; Capital Markets; Business Consulting and Services

Wonder what's the criteria there?  Cities where you see the most school spirit?

Places like Austin, Nashville, and Baton Rouge have colleges in them, but they aren't "college towns" in the same way Athens and College Station are.  Hard to compare in most respects, so I have to think whoever made that graphic must've had something like the above in mind, i.e., where do you notice the highest amount of fandom?

I wouldn't call Nashville a college town any more than I'd call MiniParis, Boston, Seattle, Miami, LA or Chicago college towns.

Even Austin and Columbus are getting too big to be considered college towns, IMO.

Yeah I have no idea.  It was just a ranking and it has Athens #1 and we all know how much CD loves rankings so I posted it.

I don't consider Austin to be a college town at all.  But it does have a lot of fun stuff for college kids to do-- way more stuff than, say, College Station has.

When I got to Madison, the population was 75K. It's now 270K. The metro is getting close to a Million (probably by 2030??).
