THIS DAY IN HISTORY:
Maxentius Becomes Emperor of Rome (306 CE)
Shortly after Roman co-emperors Diocletian and Maximian retired, Maximian's successor, Constantius, died. The Romans, discontented with the shift of power away from Rome, supported Maximian's son, Maxentius, who claimed the throne. His father came out of retirement to help him when Severus and Galerius claimed the throne and tried to overthrow him. Severus was compelled to surrender, and Galerius withdrew.

I always enjoy a good succesion story.  Starting a name with Max seems to be a popular name in Roman times.

The terms Kaiser and Czar/Tsar all mean "Caesar".

Nearly every major city in the world is on a navigable waterway, in the US I think only Denver, Atlanta, and Dallas qualify, maybe one could count Charlotte or Orlando.

The big one has to be a B36, right?

Six turning and four burning.  There is one at the Dayton Museum indoors, it's huge.

They had so many mechanical issues that their crews revised that to something like "Four turning, three burning, two smoking, and one unaccounted for". The transition from pistons to jets took a bit to get right.

Maybe I misunderstand the term "navigable waterway," but are you saying here that only Denver, ATL and DFW are on navigable waterways in the US?  That doesn't seem right.  NOLA, BR, St. Louis, anywhere else on the Mississippi would seem to qualify as being on a navigable waterway.  Large ships carry freight all up and down that thing all the time.

The Google tells me Indianapolis is the largest US city not on a navigable waterway. Phoenix and Charlotte, too. Columbus and Dayton are two more up in Big Ten country.

Out by me: Fresno is one.

Seems like there would be a lot of those, depending on how "big" it needs to be.

Vegas, Oklahoma City, Wichita, Austin, San Antone. Nashville?

Nashville in navigable.  I didn't think about Phoenix or Vegas.  Maybe only refers to older larger cities.
