The Seine in Paris is not very large, it can accomodate smaller passenger craft, but not significant barge shipping.  And of course it is hindered by bridges like this one.

October 28 features several memorable milestones and record-breaking performances in college football history:

• 1905 — Notre Dame defeated the American College of Medicine and Surgery 142-0, scoring 27 touchdowns in 33 minutes of play (with a shortened second half).  Fielding Yost's Michigan defeated the Medics 72–0 in 1904,these two deserve each other

• 1950 — The 99-Yard Punt: Pat Brady of Nevada-Reno booted an NCAA-record 99-yard punt against Loyola Marymarks (Loyola Marymount) from inches outside his own goal line. Because a 100-yard punt is impossible in the record books, the record can be tied, but never broken.

• 1978 — Joe Delaney's Half: Joe Delaney of Northwestern State rushed for 263 yards in the second half alone (finishing with 299 yards and 4 touchdowns) in a 28-18 win over Nicholls State, setting an NCAA record for rushing yards in a half.

• 1995 — Holy War Victory: Notre Dame defeated Boston College 20-10 in the seventh annual College Football Holy War.

• 2000 — Purdue Last-Second Thriller: Purdue quarterback Drew Brees connected with Seth Morales for a dramatic game-winning touchdown to beat Ohio State 31-27.

• 2008 — Crabtree's Catch: (Played Oct 28 / early Nov window) No. 5 Texas Tech beat No. 1 Texas 39-33 on Graham Harrell's 28-pressing touchdown pass to Michael Crabtree with just one second remaining

Joe Delaney at RB for the Chiefs were early memories for me. He was a helluva player. Tragic death, could not swim, but still attempted to rescue drowning children.

October 28 2019, today one of my Fb memories was a video of Skylar Thompson scoring one of his 4 rushing TD's in this:

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Skylar Thompson and Kansas State dealt a big blow to No. 5 Oklahoma's national title hopes.

The Wildcats' quarterback threw for 213 yards while running for four touchdowns, the defense did just enough against Heisman Trophy contender Jalen Hurts and the Sooners' prolific offense, and Kansas State held on through a harrowing fourth quarter for a 48-41 victory on Saturday.
