Have we reached the point where we should stop talking about this here, and anyone who wants to continue the discussion can head down to A51 where they have a plenty active thread going?

I think it's been OK thus far, but I'm watching. I'm not one to shut down fact-based discussion among adults who have known each other for 20 years.

I fully agree.  I dont think he knew anything about the elevation and that's why the throat shot. Yeah yeah because the droplets displace the other elements, which may make the humidity equation for the drop invalid, but that is what "they" teach and I've seen it.  Something causes it.  Firing over water is very tricky especially at or around the dew point.  Im guessing because of the delta between surrounding/nearby air and adjacent air.
Interesting.  Water is weird.

I have nothing nice to say about him, but obviously no one should be murdered for their words/ideas.
I will say that I don't respect adults who debate silly college kids and monetize it.  Another guy named Andrew something does the same thing.
I don't know why how much time has passed has to do with criticizing him.  I also don't know why how many kids he has matters, either.  Logically, those complaints mean there is a certain 'correct' amount of time to pass to comment critically about him.  What length of time is that?
It also suggests having one kid would make it less tragic...?  Or no kids, even better?  What if they were expecting?  What if they were childless?  Less tragic?  Mkay.

Anyway, I know all of that was ugly, but we can all agree this is another despicable outcome.  It will continue as long as we're radically polarized, which means as long as social media is still an unbridled thing.  Keeping those tech-savvy 75 year olds in office really helps!  So yeah.

the thing about Charlie Kirk i think everyone in their anger has forgotten is that he championed, stood firmly, and demanded the First Amendment be regarded.  ...and that means all these folks speaking against him and expressing joy he's gone should be able to do so.... they may have to face consequences for it such as losing their jobs if their employer takes that route, but none of them are being arrested or tar and feathered.  even in Europe, that isn't the case.  you'll get snatched up by authorities in a heartbeat for saying or posting something that is against their agenda.

we gotta remember why the 1A is there- first- and it's primarily because without communication the amendment following is activated in it's full potential.  the 1st without the second has no teeth... the second without the first is mayhem.  that's my opinion... change my mind.

Well sure, the 1st only matters if you understand it's there to defend speech you don't agree with.

But also, an experienced debater seeking out discourse with 20 year olds walking to class makes the content of the debate almost moot.

I'm glad they found the murderer and I'm confident he'll get punished to the fullest extent.

Charlie supported public assassinations?

OK...now it's time to move this to "non-moderated board"

Absolutely heartless comment

I think there's a subtler way to say his death was ironic.

Obviously it's not that caveman-ish.

If you're familiar with his work, he always ALWAYS harps on gang violence and gun violence with gangs while seemingly giving all other gun violence a pass.  The irony is that he was doing just that when he was shot.

Add to that his voiced disuse of empathy, and you have his detractors lacking the obligation to not voice their dissention with his public output.

Yet despite those things, we can all agree it was wrong, shouldn't have happened, and the perpetrator will get his.  I'm just glad he didn't take the cowardly suicide route.
