I never got into it but I enjoyed the pop culture around it, like HH as Thunderlips in Rocky IV, Andre the Giant in The Princess Bride, etc.

Thought you wrote "husker"

I'll probably wait until week 4, or 5 , of the football season for that.

Yeah, but at the very tail end of any attention that I spent on the franchise. There have been some good heroes and villains since then (the Rock, John Cena, and definitely the Undertaker come to mind--and I'm sure there are some good ones now), but that was after my time.
Same. I know about a lot of those because my little brother was into WWF. My dad even took him to a couple of Wrestlemania shows.

Did not remain a professional wrestling fan, but the Wrestlemania when Hulk body slammed Andre the Giant is a classic for me. That was my era: Macho Man Randy Savage, Jimmy Superfly Snuka, Jesse the Body, the Ultimate [steroid abuser] Warrior, Rowdy Roddy Piper, the Iron Sheik (what a great villain)...It wasn't as well choreographed or extreme as it became later, but it was all kinds of silly fun.

Oh--how could I forget Jake the Snake!?!
I found my people.

Imagine my surprise when I found out it was all fake.  I mean, not that I thought it was totally real or something, I just had no idea how fake it was.  It was certainly entertaining.  It seems like we came really close to going to one of the wreslemanias or summer slams or something in the late 80's.  Maybe Wrestlemania 3?  Which one was in Houston?

One of my best friends was way into it in the late 80s.  He'd get so mad at me whenever I told him it was fake.

Hogan certainly had a weird later turn.

RIP Chuck Mangione, a person I thought was just a cartoon character for many years.

You could not get away from "Feels So Good" in 1977. It made it all the way to #4 on the pop charts, it was in a bunch of commercials, it was ubiquitous.

I love that song.

I learned to play some flugelhorn specifically because of it.

Probably shoulda stuck with it, I was way better on flugelhorn, trumpet, and mellophone, than I ever was on French horn.

RIP my french horn. Left it at my house in Madison over one college summer, came back, it was gone. Sigh.

Not that it's much of a singalong kind of an instrument...

I never had my own French horn, just used the school-issued ones.  I didn't need a good one, I wasn't good enough for it to make a difference.

But now I'm looking at French horns for my daughter.  She's going to be competing for State this year, and the quality of the horn you're playing can make all the difference with the judges.  Her tone is really great on the school-issued horns, but when I hear her play a REALLY good one like the one her private lessons teacher owns, I can't believe how amazing she sounds.

So... yeah.  Anyone got an extra $5K-$6K lying around?

You've probably heard this song at some point.  It was featured in the first Dr. Strange movie if you're into those...
