Burger joints are all about nostalgia.  I covet a burger at Rally's (aka Checkers) here.  They're nothing special, but the taste takes me back to fond memories.

In 'n Out isn't special at all.  Plus their fries are THE worst.

I've always been let down when told "you HAVE to try their burger!" - not because any of the burgers were bad, but none of them were special.  Happened with In 'n Out, happened with Culvers, happened with 5 Guys,...

Maybe burgers can't be special.  They can just take your mind back to a pleasant memory.

Does anyone like a burger more than the one they make at home?

Never heard of an In n Outs, never heard of a Rally’s or Checkers,or 5 guys. Have heard of Red Robbins.

Life is pretty good here in the sticks!

I liked Rally's quite a bit as a teenager, but think it's just disgusting today.

Not sure if their quality just fell off of a cliff, or if my taste buds have changed substantially.

yes, I make a dern good burger in my kitchen and on my grill, but I don't usually have all the ingredients to put together something from the red robin menu.
jalapeño relish, candied bacon, avocado, citrus-marinated tomatoes,  sautéed and blackened portobello mushrooms, Bleu cheese sauce, Bleu cheese crumbles, lettuce and Country Dijon Sauce, crispy onion straws, chipotle mayo, Fried jalapeño coins, jalapeño-cornmeal kaiser roll,  House-made guac,

If’n the burger is that good, what’d you need all that stuff for?!?

So I was playing catchup on this thread, and two things stand out.

1. There's something fascinating about Michigan fans trying to get their hands around Patterson. The guy is this unstable isotope, big crazy plays and boneheaded ones. And Michigan fans strike me as wanting the world a little more orderly (at least Navarre had the decency to toss picks from the pocket).

As for the throw to the big TE thing, I'm kinda split. The window wasn't super open or clean, but in a lot of offenses, you trust a guy to make non-clean plays. I lean toward throw it, but I can see where some discomfort comes from, though if you don't trust someone to make a play, you limit the offense a lot.

2. A lot of Matt Canada talk, play-calling breakdown. When I pulled it up, looked a lot like a Matt Canada game. Creative and quirky, sometimes less effective than you'd think (his NC State offenses felt that way). But, you have a bad QB and a sizable talent disadvantage, not much way to make all that up.

The burger at Five Guys is decent enough. The trouble is that they charge New York prices in Rochester, Minnesota, and that ain't gonna fly.

They also don't offer anything other than American Cheese.

If I'm paying 8 bucks for a burger, it better have some chedda.

Hurons can't catch a break

Next thing you know the PC police will make them change their name from Hurons to Warriors.. err. Golden Eagles or some other bullshit.
Then Lake Huron can be changed too, to Lake Michigan (it's technically the same Lake) ... err.... Lake Illinois… err..
