The original Star Wars movie, later subtitled "Episode IV: A New Hope" was a western disguised as a SciFi movie.  And it was brilliant.

Yeah I like a lot of Joss Whedon's work.  I didn't watch Firefly at the time, so I guess I'm part of the problem. :)

We were a young married couple spending a LOT of time out on the town and I wasn't watching really any TV then,  but I caUght it sometime in the early 2010s, plus the movie Serenity, and really enjoyed it.

Sometime around 2008, I think, Whedon did another show called Dollhouse, which also didn't last long.  It got two seasons and at least a chance to wrap the story up.  Looking back at it, there's a lot of elements in it that would later show up in Severance.  Mind-wiping, creating new personalities, evil corporation doing all the above for obscure, nefarious purposes, etc. 

I better get off this before Badger bans me and puts all this on the TV shows thread. 

I guess he likes political sniping and Mdot's rage-cursing.

For a second, I read that as seeing Serenity but not Firefly, which would have been weird.
