If we really want to fix the problem -- everybody is going to have to put their hearts on a shelf for a couple years.

Get things under control, and then put your heart back in your chest, but use it only after using your brain to properly, and extensively, vet --- any, and all, LEGAL migrants only.

Sounds like a disaster if you're relying on an election worker to look at a drivers license and determine if someone can vote or not.

Everyone here is beating up on people who take great risks to come here and work shit jobs in shit conditions for shit pay. 

No one here is even suggesting doing anything about those who are bringing them in.

Minnesota AG Keith Ellison took a rather large settlement off a dairy operation in Stearns County for hiring and underpaying undocumented labor, then housing them in what may be charitably described as rancid squalor.

if they show up with busses at these businesses and deport 50% of the work force, that is punishing business

it has happened at meat packing plants in the past

I'm not seeing that at all. I'm seeing possible solutions and proposals. Bad guys go home. It's a process and it's going to be a long one. You can't undo 3.8 years of bad policy easily. The first step is to figure out who is actually here. Homeland Security doesn't have that answer.

Businesses that knowingly* hire illegals need to get dinged HARD. That will reduce the number of businesses doing it which will reduce the flow of people attempting to immigrate.  

*Within my definition of "knowingly", I include businesses that avoid finding out, ie don't want to know.

It isn't just 3.8 years of bad policy.  Blaming this ALL on the Biden administration is silly.  It was a MAJOR problem when Trump ran in 2016 and that was four years BEFORE Biden took over.  Frankly, it is at least 20 years of bad policy including Biden, Obama, and Bush.  It dates to even before that.  The Reagan era amnesty was a catastrophe and that was almost 40 years ago.
