Corn-fed here in Iowa
They taste GOOD!

Is that a neck shot?  Nice buck.  Wish we grew them bigger down here.  Y'all have some hosses up that way!

Hunting. Sure, why not.

These dinosaurs were here before us, and I'm pretty sure they'll be here when we're gone.

But fried gator tail at Pappadeaux is delicious.

I'm not OK with this, at all. Her incompetence, lying, and ignorance cost me money. The fix was in. It's Chicago.

I love Burnt Store Marina, even though it's 65 right now.
If you look for the legal system to make feel OK, it never will.

What money did her incompetence cost you?

There are probably some life altering experiences in Thailand too :57:

(Thailand--Bangkok specifically, is a place I never have any desire to go back to. But when I was there for work, with our factory ~1 hr north of Bangkok, we went out for lunch at this little place on a patio right on the river, and wow that was cool... So outside of that lunch I didn't get to see the 'civilized' side of Thailand--only the whore-infested city of Bangkok.)
Well, let's just say I do have a story from Chiang Mai, where a buddy and I ended up in some random warehouse with a boxing ring setup with Thai Boxing, that was flying under the radar, with about 500 attendees, which eventually ended up me waking up in a random apartment, in some back alley. When I woke up and tried to figure out where i was, going down to the back alley, some random dude on a motorcycle picked me up and I jumped on the back and the only place i knew where it was was the Starbucks that was two blocks from my hotel.. The ride from the apartment to the starbucks was 15 minutes on the back of the bike.. The rest of the night.. very foggy lol.

You know... I drink. Sometimes probably more than I should.

But I figured in Thailand, I had to keep it at the level where I still had my wits...

That picture has to be older, right?

6 weeks ago you were that green, with foliage, and now looks dead of winter with snow?

And, that deer still appears to be in velvet.  He's a beauty.
had to go check.. end of August.. so closer to 12 weeks.. this time is flying by lol.

I've had some coworkers asking me about retirement, how I like it, etc.  One fellow is a senior VP in legal, very nice guy, we chat on line at times.  He would have more money than ... he needs.  He's still working but thinking about it.  Maybe he wanted to be CLO someday, I don't think he made that.  He had an engineering degree from Purdue and is a patent attorney, but left patents.

I retired at 58, took a package when offered.  I've never looked back at all, except to chat per above some.  They treat retirees pretty well.  Even though I was nowhere near being VP level, I did OK.

The best things about where we live is the park across the street, and I go often, and proximity to urban stuff, the symphony, arts center, botanical garden, any kind of restaurant that isn't French, bars, nightclubs, a lot of construction, and a lot of younger folks around us.  I'd never lived in an urban area before.  We get some traffic noise at times, we live on a busy street, there are homeless folks around, not many but I'll see one or two usually if I'm out walking, they have never bothered me.  Crime around us is pretty slight but at night I keep my wits about me.  There isn't much way anyone could break into our condo who wasn't a real pro, and a real pro wouldn't bother.

The air is pretty clean, the water tastes fine, electricity is pretty cheap, property taxes are a bit steep because the condo valuation is highish.  Sales tax is 8.9% which is pretty steep of course.  We have a Kroger and Publix about a mile away, and a Whole Foods and Trader Joes in different directions.  So, it has worked out for us, I do like getting up and looking out at green stuff, and there is an allure of living in the country for me.  I could have a double wide and some huntin' dogs and maybe an old Camaro up on blocks with a still in the shed.

Pam Bondi is the new AG pick.  That one makes a ton more sense.  She's a Trump supporter who is actually qualified for the job

I realize this is a Gator not an Iguana but I'm going to tell this silly story anyway.

A few years ago when my FiL was still around, we were down in Florida to visit and FiL was talking about going "Iguana Hunting".  So, being me, I was looking up Iguana recipes on my phone thinking we were going to catch and eat an Iguana.

Well it turned out he just liked to go out and spot them and that was "hunting" to him.

That can't be a long list of humans.
