And just in case anyone wonders... I'm not entirely sure my position is perfectly consistent. It's not like I only wear plain shirts.

My T-shirt wardrobe (with the exception of some plain-colored v-necks) is almost entirely Purdue shirts or brewery shirts. Clearly I'm advertising for both, and I'm not getting those shirts free. But I'm deliberately choosing to support those entities/businesses... When I buy my intent is not to advertise for a dealer, and when I buy a piece of clothing, my intent is not to advertise the brand of clothing I bought.

I don't have many t-shirts I've actually paid for.

90% are from vendors in the business or my employer for free.

another 9% are Husker or Viking shirts that were gifts.

the remaining one shirt I may have purchased I'm not sure I could find.

LOL... I'm actually not that bad. Most dealers don't really even do that any more with the decals around here. They put on their license plate frames, and I drive off the lot with their frame on the car--and change it when I get home.

The only time I've had to do that was when I lived in Atlanta, which is Neal Boortz country. He made a point of talking about the same thing on his radio show back then, so I'm pretty sure all the Atlanta area dealers are used to it.

I've also never understood the concept of wearing a T-shirt that says something like "Guess Jeans" on it. Really? Do I need my shirt to advertise my pants? Who would wear such a thing? (Turns out, a lot of people...)
In Ohio the plate covers were illegal because they covered up the name of the county. Of course the dealers put them on there anyway without bothering to tell you that. So you'd get a ticket as soon as you drove through a speed trap. Quite the racket.

any of youse guys know anything about telescopes?

My daughter wants one for Xmas.

I'm not looking to spend a lot of money, maybe $200 or less.  Doubt she will really use it much.

I'll probably get something slightly used.

Lots of options, and I know nothing about optics like this.

When I was hunting/fishing more I bought a lot of gear from here .sportsmansguide.com/product/index/barska-20-60x60mm-colorado-waterproof-spotting-scope?a=1516596&szc=000&clrc=000&pm2d=CSE-SPG-15-PLA&utm_medium .They use to sell Military Surplus - they still might.

When I was looking this ad popped up https://www.bestbuy.com/site/celestron-travel-scope-70mm-refractor-telescope-gray-black/6387417.p?skuId=6387417&ref=212&loc=1&extStoreId=278&ref=212&loc=1&ds_r ,so there is prolly one around you - Good Luck

Continuing the conversation from Saturday, for my bday dinner, I got the branzino, but my i s c & a aggie wife got the braised beef short ribs, so I got to enjoy BOTH.

I also stumbled into a free bottle Chateau Margaux, that was quite the experience...
