I could say that If I had the guts to stand up to the egg lobby, I'd stop eating them.

Except I don't eat eggs for breakfast, for cholesterol reasons.

Unusual view of Central Park.  Being from the north looking south.
Is that ice in the East River?
I don't know if it ices over in the winter.  Upriver 60 miles, the Hudson certainly does.

Snow in Manhattan is nasty.  Golashes make perfect sense when you spend a minute in NYC in snow.  Dirty filthy mess.

It may be ice on the shoreline.  This is from 1931.

I eat 20 MG of Simvastatin for lunch so I can eat whatever I like for breakfast

The correlation between cholesterol in the diet and cholesterol levels in the blood is rather dubious from what I've seen.

In a normal human, 70% of the cholesterol we need is generated by our bodies from other things, only 30% comes from diet.  That can get out of whack, and if you cut the dietary component to zero, your body may compensate by making more, and too much, potentially.

probably a reason my doc didn't suggest I change diet and exercise

or he just thinks I'm a stubborn old man that would be good at healthy change in my lifestyle

There is some evidence that dietary iron is bad for males and post menopausal women.  It makes some sense to me.  Dietary iron is colocated, usually, with saturated fat and cholesterol.  So, folks were told to avoid cholesterol unduly, I think, when perhaps iron was the real culprit.

Iron has the ability to spawn free radicals which can be very damaging to tissues like blood vessels.  Usually it's carried by various and sundry things in the body so that doesn't happen.

Well then I'm glad I hardly take statins then - I guess. However there are indications that statins could cause memory problems - as the brain is 30% fat.So I do take fish oil

I am speaking rather speculatively, not with any intent to provide firm guidance.  I'd defer to any MD.
