The best Greek joints are in town, not out here in the burbs.  There's one good one over by my office, but I haven't been into the office since March, so...

When I was doing a 6-week summer program at Northwestern, summer before my senior year in high school, I stayed in a campus dorm with an assigned roommate.  He was a Chicago native, and we became friends, so a couple of times per week his dad would swing by and spring us loose for lunch.  They saw it as their mission to enlighten me with respect to Chicago cuisine (and believe me I was all for it, especially compared to dorm food!).

We went out and got red hots, deep dish pizza, and then one day they took me to a Greek place.  I'd had Greek food before, and knew I'd like it, but for some reason I'd never had dessert at any Greek restaurant.  They ordered some baklava and it looked a little weird to me, but I've always been willing to try pretty much anything.  From the moment I bit into it, I knew I'd found ambrosia from the gods, and I knew it would be my favorite dessert for the rest of my life.

I don't eat it much, I don't eat any sweets all that often, but sometimes I'll go out of my way to stop by my favorite Greek place in town to snag some baklava.  And it tastes as delicious today as it did back then.

We have some good Greek places around us in walking distance, and I enjoy them, but as the wife says there are so many good places it's hard to patronize them all.

This place is good, they have three small tables on the sidewalk, I wish they had more outdoor seating but there isn't room.

It's a quiet street fortunately.

That block is "historical", owned by the Atlanta History Center because the Margaret Mitchell house is on the block, and that small older set of buildings is part of it, so they can't make changes readily.  The house, or rather apartment building, apparently burned significantly a while back, so it isn't really a thing.  We visited it once, I didn't quite get the point of it but whatever.

Oddly enough, it's across the street from the Fed building which has a nice museum (closed now).  You can watch millions of dollars of currency being schlepped around by robotic fork lifts.  They don't allow cameras inside.

The Mitchell House is upper left almost hidden in the trees (not the taller brick building, those are condos).  The Fed bldg has some interesting security features one can see from the park around it.

I wonder how many Cincy chili places exist outside the Cincy metro area.  I think there are some in C-bus, and some in Florida.

I went to a Gold Star my first night in Cincy in 1980 expecting to get chili.  Disappointed.  Majorly.  Didn't try it again for many years.

I've only ever seen Cincy chili on Food Network shows.

Obviously, it's different, and if one is expecting "normal" chili, you will be sadly disappointed.  Once I accepted that it was NOT chili, I found it to be "OK" and would order it every so often (and add hot sauce).
