Well let's be clear who you're talking about when you say "The Democrats" in the above.  Are you talking about the DNC?  Hillary herself?  Or just people that vote Democrat?  Or people in the media that choose to report things in... how should I say it... a "Democrat-slanted manner?"

Because I know quite a few people that voted for Hillary, and who didn't understand exactly what was done with respect to Russian influence, and who most assuredly stated outright that Trump and the RNC and the Russians rigged the election.  And there were also, most certainly, some... "Democrat-slanted media members"... who reported it that way as well.

They might have meant something else, but that's not what they said-- they said it was rigged, and further they were certain that there was conclusive proof that there was collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians.

I'm not disagreeing with the spirit of what you're saying, but since I agree with you that words mean something, I think it's important to be clear about who and what we're talking about.

So I think we all know someone somewhere, and can find someone who should've known better who said something bombastic about politics. And many people misused the word "rigged" because it's just the nature of us to sometimes act like morons.

But we don't have to.

It's hard to resist catnip like the kind MDot threw out and then pretended wasn't political, and now we're four more pages mostly of bickering. Fortunately we mostly seem to not be talking about if it was or wasn't "rigged" in a strict sense of the word, and that's probably good.

Anyway, somewhere someone is saying something that will piss you off. It's the nature of the world. Best to ignore those who don't matter and deal with the people actually in your life as makes sense. (And maybe please not start s--- to start s--- on the board. This part not directed at you Tee)

I will say- I am pretty pleased with how things turned out.

First- no more stupid commercials!

second- I left my Prez ballot empty as promised, but picked all winners down ballot- and those selections were important to me.

Third- diarrhea mouth is out, and he can only blame himself

Fourth- those with the policy ideas I find repulsive gained no power in the house and senate.

My word of caution is- despite the President Elect calling for unity, which I applaud- I feel a high level of certainty things will get far worse.
There are 71million people who have 4 years of rage built up for how they have been treated by the left and the media.  They are never going to forget the last election and how it was disputed, and the endless hypocrisy and hate directed at them. ( not at POTUS-at them) from the day after election and through today.  In fact- they see it has escalated now that their candidate won.  They see the talking heads talking about making Trump supporters “ pay” and making lists and still calling then every “ism” that exists.

There will be no unity- because there wasn’t in 16-20.

84% of Americans don’t trust the media. 78% of Republicans do not feel this election was legit- specifically due to ballot harvesting.  Congress has an approval rating lower ( about half) of Trumps.

Sadly- this is a recipe for more division.

Not sure what can fix this.

Forcing social media companies to take their algorithms and throw them in the trash can would fix this.

LMAO. This is hilarious. You've bought hook line and sinker into this boogeyman DNC bullshit.

Do you HONESTLY THINK $100,000 in Facebook Ads titled the 2016 election. If you do- you are naive. As hell. It had a negligible affect at best.

You seem to think people are people.  They're not.  They're sheep.

The answer is someone somewhere putting aside rage, maybe turning the other cheek and being nice to one another, even if someone isn't nice to you.

It's a bitch to pull off, especially without personal interaction, and its arguably a hinderance to acquiring power.

Shoot, the past four years started with a deep simmering well of rage. Rage built when that 71 wasn't winning, then it built more when it was winning and now we forecast it builds more in defeat.

Your post inspired me to get on the scale (I don't believe in them for the most part), up 7-8 pounds, I think from the last time I looked I don't know how good or bad that is. Wish there was an easy body fat percentage test that was reliable. That's such a better number.
Ah,another rigging or miscount

I mean, I used to lift weights 4 times a week. If I stopped, I'd lose weight, but that wouldn't be super.

No you were missing it. I really don’t think it has anything to do with defeat.

The original victory came because how those people were being treated. Deplorable‘s and all. And now those people who say those things, and unfortunately they are the ones with the microphones, are turning up the volume instead of turning it down.  I could see unity if that wasn’t happening but the left seems to want their pound of flesh and it will absolutely and certainly backfire on them politically and in other ways

Elections commercials here have increased, not stopped.  I thought I moved from a BG state to a nonBG state, heh.

I only notice when the wife turns on the local news, so that's good.

I'm up early this morning, again.

Good luck, my friend.

I'm in a weird spot. I got a little bit bigger muscle-wise at my last job because of free gym membership. My new job had a gym, but less stuff, so less heavy weight. I think I lost a little weight with that, then I started running, which knocked down the weight a little more.

Then the pandemic started. On the one hand, I've been good at running every other day and doing an abbreviated lift session on the off days (only so much one can do with limited gear and body weight), plus a long walk. It means my feet have been giving me issues. Sleep issues have also meant my running performance has dipped, which sucks. I'm a little worried I'm snacking too much. Have a sweet tooth I've been indulging too much.

I do think anxiety is a huge problem right now. It's got me too. Trouble sleeping, too much booze, etc.

I am not. I'm not a fan of DJT, but the newly elected "VP" will not be a good president for so many many reasons.

The rest of your post I agree with, except that the divisiveness started in 2008.

There has never been a ton of unity.  Just look at the electoral history of black people in the south if you want to see history of widespread fraud.  Though perhaps a newish problem is the sort of gamesmanship unrelated to governance about the election. Trump declared victory and then has tried various theories on why that was the case, none particularly based in evidence.  It would be sad for our democracy if the new normal would be to declare every election fraudulent.

I think (??) we are the only country that allows for other than in-person voting. That needs to stop. If you want to vote, show up and show your ID.

Dead people voted in Nevada, and I'm sure in many other places. Mayor Daley voted in Chicago, 14 times.
