If this dude is elected mayor, he would face "reality" that his glorifed plans will run into the face of hard reality. He probably will make some moves mostly for show early on and then get bogged down, and he would be a lightning rod for anything bad that happens WRT law and order, cost of rent or groceries, etc.
Then disillusionment sets in. Perhaps NYC has to oscillate between high sounding mayors who screw up and hard core mayors who fix a few things.
