I hate adware and bloatware.  I hate that companies, including the one I work for, insist on loading it.

There are some decent apps that you can run that will go through and disable/remove most of it.

I suspect these pop up once and are gone.  Maybe.  They are off to the side.  Some kind of yuboTV thingee popped up.

MacAfee pops up.  I got a CD called Media Suite 12, no idea what that would do.

It's some DVD editing thingee.

I'm working on my task bars.  Just logged into Amazon.

Why number 137 is one of the greatest mysteries in physics - Big Think

I read a biography of Dirac the other week and this came up, he was really fascinated by it.

Anybody have an idea of when the fade route became a thing?
There's always been the fly (streak) route straight downfield and the post, but the fade - where you drift towards the sideline as you go downfield - was born at some point.

I have no ide when, though.

Hmmmm .... my earliest recollection is with David Greene, but I imagine it was a think before the Dawgs discovered it.  I wonder if some QB accidentally threw a fade and the WR caught it, but it was a broken play in effect, at some point.

It seems like a low percentage pass to me.

The other one is the "back shoulder" which I considered a fairly high percentage play counting PI as part of the success.  Very tough to defend I think.  Then there are wheel routes.

I don't know when or who popularized these things, maybe some coach had them in 1937.

The back shoulder started in the past 20-25 years, for sure.
But the fade route was backinto the 80s  I assume and perhaps before.  I'd have to listen to a bunch of old games to see how far back the announcers used it.
I was just asking a genuine question, and as usual, got a non-answer in return.

It's not one of the 9 basic routes on the route tree here.....

https://www.thephinsider.com/2016/6/20/11975890/football-101-wide-receiver-route-tree

This one shows the "fade" as the fly

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2016841-nfl-101-breaking-down-the-basics-of-the-route-tree

Yeah, that's definitely not the traditional fade route.
In my game, I'm not sure everyone knows what a "dig" route is, so I type it out as "deep in."
.
A fade where you aren't expecting the ball to be thrown at you, but at an area you create between you, the defender, and the sideline is what I'm talking about.  You stutter-step off the line, then get width to the outside of the corner, and then go upfield, expecting the ball in that area, usually a rainbow-type throw that should land right along the sideline.
