Was there any reason for the UT/OU move other than money?  Maybe prestige?  Better shot at the playoff (???)?

Moving to the Pac would have meant a lot less money.

I am only going to post once on this topic, you all can say what you want about me after, I don't care.

First, Roe v Wade is one of the worst reasoned Supreme Court decisions in the history of the court and needs to be overturned.  Any reasonable reading of the decision sees that the justices made up what they wanted. Rights found in the penumbra of the constitution. Well you can anything you want in the shadows because you can't actually see what is in a shadow. Again poorly reasoned.

Second, the issue of abortion boils down to where life begins.  You either own your body or you don't.  There is no denying that a baby in the womb is a completely unique DNA individual from the mother.  It is not the mother's body that is ripped apart and being killed. (Intent ally loaded words)  And ultimately that is where I lie on the issue.  No one has the right to kill another person without due process of law (and there are many on both sides of abortion issue who believe we can't even do that after birth). We can talk about viability, but none of us could live without someone providing sustenance to us for long after we left the womb.

I would never tell a woman what she can or can't do with her body, but I will tell her she can't kill another human being. I am a pretty extreme libertarian and believe that fundamental to most if not all rights is the right to property and the ultimate property being your own person. And abortion is deny a person that right.

We can talk about the tough cases, but ultimately, at least according to the stats I have seen are only somewhere between 1% and 3% and those can be handled on an individual basis.

Abortions is a great immorality, deny a unique human being the right to life without due process. It is funny the court found a right that didn't actually exist in the constitution, but denied a unique person the right to due process which is in the constitution.

And before I get the "you only care about babies in the womb" I have been involved and supported organization which take care of women and their babies after birth with "troubled" pregnancy.  I don't know any pro-life organization which isn't dedicated to being there after the birth.

Well now I’m just thinking of the philosophical trickle down of all this. Not speaking loudly for one side of another, but simply musing that to not deny someone else a central right, a person must be, to a degree, deprived of the right of owning their own physical person.

I suppose it’s a case of one right being weighed just a hair above another, but it’s a fine difference indeed.

Money and hype. All of sports are built on anticipation, and this helps there

video of the piece of shit that tried to jump on stage and attack Dave Chapelle with what police now say was a fake gun and a knife being escorted into an ambulance after police arrived on scene....

Chappelle's security team beat the ever loving f**king shit out of this garbage and looks like they broke his arm and legs and twisted him up like a pretzel. Shame they didn't kill him.

Texas is a Blue Blood in football by any measure and it's curious how they could stay down this long, to me, with upper level recruiting.

Well said. It is a tough issue.

I do think the federal government needs to be out of it though.

meh. people that unhinged and psychotic do not deserve life and it's a complete waste of tax payer dollar to keep them in prison for life, and a liberal shithole like California will probably just let the scumbag out in a year or two anyway. Thank god that piece of shit had a fake gun and not a real one- and thank god Chappelle had security up the ass and his security team was able to respond immediately and beat the piece of shit to a pulp and he didn't get to injure/maim or worse...mortally wound Chappelle with his knife.

I’d prefer more of the former.

Even Justice RBG (RIP) took this stance. Very poorly reasoned.

On the topic of Finland/Sweden and NATO, I figure their objective is to stay out of war with anyone, right?

Does joining NATO make war more or less probable?  Is Russia likely to invade either as a neutral in the next 20 years?

I think it's a hedge in case this whole Ukraine fiasco does not result in the wholesale collapse of the Putin government.
